Tour Championship Snooker 2025 – Day 4 Tips and Betting Preview

The Tour Championship continues in Manchester on Thursday when we find out the identity of the four men who will line up in the semi-finals of the penultimate event of the season over the course of Friday and Saturday.

We already know that Barry Hawkins has made it through to the last four and the other three men will be finalised over the course of two more sessions of play as we head to the business stage of the final Players Series event of the season.

Wednesday Recap

We saw an entertaining day of snooker on Wednesday and one which was very good for our outright bet Barry Hawkins who is now just one win away from delivering us a payout after he took care of Judd Trump 10-5 in the only match to finish over the course of the day. Two matches started over on table two with the afternoon session seeing John Higgins opening up a 5-3 lead on Xiao Guodong for when they resume to a finish on Thursday afternoon while in the evening session Mark Selby and Neil Robertson got their match up and running with the overnight score being 7-1 to Selby.

In Play Betting

I think it is fair to expect Mark Selby to progress with a 7-1 overnight lead. I wasn’t convinced that Neil Robertson was playing well enough anyway but there is no coming back from that deficit against a player with the class of Selby. The other one is more balanced in terms of the potential for Xiao Guodong to come back from 5-3 down to John Higgins but the Scot looked in excellent form in the first session, making three centuries and really stamping his authority on the match in the final two frames of the afternoon. I don’t think Guodong goes without a fight but at the same time if Higgins picks up where he left off then he could steal a march and then there is no coming back so I’ll leave that alone.

Kyren Wilson vs Ding Junhui

There is one quarter final left to get underway and it sees the world champion and recent winner of the Players Championship, Kyren Wilson, going up against a Ding Junhui who looked back to better form in his first round win over Mark Williams.

The fact that Ding has played a match this week should give him an advantage and having scored well and powered clear of Williams he should have enough about him to lay down a challenge to the world number two here. Ding has got all of the seedings for the worlds and everything else sorted out so he can give this a real good go. The pressure is more on Wilson in this match but he has shown all season that he can handle that so there is no reason to think we won’t get a great game here. The main table has played well all week so far. There have been 11 centuries in the 42 frames that have been played on it and it is a century bet I like here. The line is 3.5 which kind of feels high but when these two meet centuries do flow. They have met in two best of 19 matches over the last couple of years or so with there being five centuries in a World Championship meeting between the two and seven when they met in the semi-final here two years ago. Matches between these two are littered with centuries and with Ding looking back to scoring form and Wilson one of the heaviest scorers out there right now the over looks good to me.

Tips

Back K.Wilson vs D.Junhui – Over 3.5 centuries for a 3/10 stake at 1.91 with Boylesports
