UEFA Nations League 2022-23 – Sunday 12th June Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The final matchday of the UEFA Nations League for this international break gets underway on Sunday when many countries battle it out across the continent for the last time this season on a big day of action.

As ever we have elite teams on show looking to strengthen their semi-final claims while those below the top league will be looking to get into a position where they can be promoted and better their chances of qualifying for Euro 2024.

League A

Group A2 play their final matches of this international break on Sunday which means we get to see the first winners of this competition, Portugal, in action once again. They are in pole position in this section and will look to stay that way when they head to Switzerland, for whom you think this is a must win match if they are to avoid relegation. Spain got their first win last time out and will be looking to build on that when they go up against the Czech Republic.

League B

There is one group on show in the second tier on Sunday and it is B4 where we have the two Scandinavian teams colliding in the early kick off when Norway welcome Sweden across the border. Norway opened the door to the field when they could only draw with Slovenia last time out and Sweden will be looking to take advantage here. Serbia are the other team looking to close in on Norway. They head to Slovenia in what is a big match for the team who will be off to Qatar later in the year.

Leagues C + D

Five matches take place in the lower two tiers on Sunday with Northern Ireland and Cyprus getting the action underway for the day when they meet in a big match in Belfast. The loser of that match could well end up in the relegation play-off from Group C. Greece and Kosovo have no such concerns and their meeting could decent the group winner. C4 is another group on show on Sunday. Georgia are blazing a trail at the top of the section and can all but secure their promotion if they can find a home win against a Bulgaria team who have drawn two of their first three. North Macedonia are the only team who can delay the Georgian promotion. They host lowly Gibraltar. The bottom tier game on Sunday sees Malta hosting San Marino.

Betting

Georgia have absolutely flown out of the traps this season and have already demolished Bulgaria 5-2 away from home in a match where they missed a penalty late on to add further salt into the Bulgarian wounds and I expect the runaway leaders in group C4 to pick up another three points when they host the same opponents on Sunday. Georgia haven’t just won their opening three matches, they have scored 12 goals in the process so they are extremely hot right now.

Bulgaria haven’t really offered too much in this group at all. They couldn’t even beat Gibraltar last time out and as form guides go that can only be described as a terrible one so you would imagine confidence will be a little low. I still don’t think there is any trouble of Bulgaria getting tied up in the relegation battle because they’ll surely beat Gibraltar at home but they might well need to because I expect them to come up very short here.
