The group phase of the UEFA Nations League 2022-23 season concludes on Tuesday night when the sections which are yet to be completed finish off on another evening where promotion, relegation and semi-final places are at stake.
It is a night where we have some big matches taking place not just for those pushing for semi-final spots but also for teams looking to secure a play-off spot for the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying campaign. We should get another competitive evening of football.
League A
There is just the one group to be completed in League A on Tuesday evening and there is plenty at stake in it. At the bottom of the table we will find out who is relegated when Switzerland host the Czech Republic. A draw for Switzerland is enough to stay up while the Czechs have to win to avoid the drop. At the top of the table a spot in the semi-finals is on the line when Portugal host Spain. Portugal go into the match in control of their own destiny. A draw will see them through whereas Spain know they have to win.
League B
There are three groups to conclude in League B on Tuesday evening and so much still to play for. In B1 we have a straight shootout for top spot in Krakow where Ukraine take on Scotland with the winner being promoted. Scotland have the draw on their side in that one. Relegation is also in the line in Dublin where Ireland know they have to avoid defeat against Armenia to stay up. Defeat and the Armenians will remain at this level. B2 also concludes on Tuesday too but neither Albania nor Iceland can go up or down when they meet. B4 is the other group to conclude and we have a winner takes all showdown for top spot when Norway play host to Serbia. Norway just need to avoid defeat to join the big boys. In the other match Sweden host Slovenia knowing they have to win to avoid dropping down to League C.

League C
Just the one group concludes in League C on Tuesday evening and while we know Greece will win the group and be promoted, we need to determine who goes into the relegation play-offs. Cyprus are the favourites to go into it but they can change all that if they can win in Kosovo. Kosovo need to avoid defeat to stay in League C. Northern Ireland go to Greece on the final night of action and they have to win to guarantee survival but just match the Cyprus result to stay in this section.
Betting
The match where my focus is on Tuesday is the one in Oslo where I like over 2.5 goals in the match between Norway and Serbia. The fact that Serbia have to win to top the table and join the big boys means they will look to go forward and in Aleksandar Mitrovic they have a top notch marksman at this level. Serbia are off to the World Cup in eight weeks and will be looking to go there full of confidence with a win here.
Norway aren’t short of a top level number nine themselves though with Erling Haaland in fantastic form at the minute. They might only have to draw this match but I’m not sure I would rely on them defensively after their capitulation in Slovenia at the weekend so you would think the Norwegians are going to have to find the net if they are going to win this group and guarantee that play-off spot in the Euro qualifying to come after the World Cup. Three of the five matches each of these have played have had more than 2.5 goals in it and I fancy this can be another one.
