The first half of the current international break concludes as far as the UEFA Nations League is concerned on Saturday when the groups yet to feature this week so do on a day where some big sides are on show.
The defending champions Spain and Portugal are the heavyweight teams taking to the field on Saturday while from the Home Nations we get to see Scotland and Northern Ireland continue their journey in the competition.
League A
We have two groups on show in League A over the course of Saturday with the first of those being Group 1 where Portugal already have a stranglehold on the section. They go to Poland looking to maintain their perfect record while the other match will see Croatia look to keep up the chase of them when they entertain Scotland. Group 4 is the other group on show where the top two meet when Denmark take their perfect record to Spain looking to take a huge step towards the quarter final. Serbia head Spain in the first round of games and they’ll look for a first win of the campaign when they play host to Switzerland.

League C
Two groups are in action in League C over the course of Saturday as well with Group 2 the one which actually gets the day underway. The first match sees Lithuania looking to respond to their unlucky defeat to Romania last time out when they host Kosovo. Romania look to be where they want to be in this section and can move closer to promotion with a win when they go to Cyprus. Group 3 is the other one on show on Saturday where the earlier kick off sees Bulgaria playing host to Luxembourg. Belarus are the surprise leaders approaching the halfway point in the campaign and they will look to stay on top when they entertain Northern Ireland in a competitive looking later game.
Betting
I haven’t had a lot of luck with both teams to score so far in this international break but missed chances have cost me rather than reading the matches wrong so I’m going to dabble in the market again here in the match between Croatia and Scotland. This feels like a pivotal game for both sides. It is already looking like if you want to make the semi-final from this group you have to be beating Scotland at least at home and probably home and away, while if Scotland want to avoid relegation they need some points badly.
That makes me think that both teams will look to play and try to win this game. Scotland look a mess defensively but to their credit they do tend to score in matches and even scored in Portugal last time out. I’m not convinced this Croatia defence can be trusted all that much but they surely have enough class at the other end of the pitch to beat what could be a 41-year-old in the Scotland sticks. A draw doesn’t really suit either here so I think both teams will go in search of goals and create a more open game than expected.
