We move into the second half of the group stage of the UEFA Nations League 2024-25 competition on Sunday when matchday four gets going with eight matches being played across the various leagues with three more valuable points up for grabs.
Some big teams are on show over the course of the night with the likes of England and Austria the biggest of them but we also have players such as Erling Haaland and Benjamin Sesko to enjoy throughout the day.
League B
Two groups are on show in League B on Sunday and it is that section which gets the action underway when Group 3 starts off the day. That sees the bottom two meeting when Slovenia make the trip to Kazakhstan. Later in the day the two sides expected to push for promotion collide when Austria go up against Norway with top spot the reward for the winners. The other group on show is Group 2 where Greece will look to stay in control of their path to the top flight. They host an Ireland side they have already beaten in this campaign. In the other match England will look to keep the chase up on the Greeks when they make the trip to Helsinki to take on Finland.

Leagues C & D
We have one group taking place in League C which is Group 4 where the top two meet as Armenia host the leaders North Macedonia in a match which could go a long way to telling us who will get promoted from this section. The other match in the group is the battle to avoid the relegation playoff as the Faroe Islands host Latvia. The other matches come in League D where in Group 1 Liechtenstein will look for their first win of the campaign when they host Gibraltar while in Group 2 Moldova will look to confirm top spot when they make the trip to Malta.
Betting
Two bets jump out at me over the course of the night with them both coming in League B. Greece looked a really good outfit at Wembley on Thursday evening and if they play to anything close to that level then they should have too much for an Ireland side who they have already beaten in Dublin. Greece will obviously be motivated by this being the first game on home soil since the sad passing of George Baldock and the emotions of the night should ensure we see them at their best. Ireland have been travelling across Europe this week with a trip to Finland and now another to Greece within three days of each other. They do bring winning confidence into this one with them but I have Greece a good deal stronger than Finland. This just feels like a tough ask for the Irish and I’m surprised Greece are 4/5 to pick up a win on home soil. I like the Greeks there.
The other bet comes in Austria where I’m expecting over 2.5 goals in their match with Norway. I took this bet in the reverse meeting and it landed and now that Erling Haaland has remembered where the net is for his country I’m expecting it to go in again especially with Austria needing to win. They had a confidence boosting win over Kazakhstan on Thursday night and are capable of scoring against anyone but as we saw at the Euros they are often exposed quite easily. Norway provide a set piece threat as well and this just feels like a game which will naturally be quite open and chances come regularly. It is then about whether they get taken but with the likes of Haaland, Sabitzer and others on show I think they will. I’ll play the over here.
