The fourth round of the US Open draws to a close on what looks like a wonderful day of action on the main courts at Flushing Meadows in New York on Monday. It is Labor Day in the States so there should be a huge crowd to witness the action.
We saw some incredible tennis to open up the last 16 on Sunday and when you look down the cast list for Monday it would be foolish to expect anything different to take place on the three courts that are providing singles action.
Arthur Ashe Stadium
The day session on Arthur Ashe Stadium on Monday begins with the Olympic champion in action when Alexander Zverev takes on the extremely talented winner in Washington earlier in the season in Jannik Sinner in what looks like a special start to the day. The day session concludes with the match that all British eyes will be on as Emma Raducanu takes on Shelby Rogers who will be looking to back up her win over Ash Barty in the previous round.
We have another American star in the making on court to open up the night session on Monday evening when Jenson Brooksby puts his talent and reputation on the line on the main court when he takes on the best of them all in Novak Djokovic. The 2019 winner of this tournament then rounds off the show when Bianca Andreescu faces the tough and fiery Greek player Maria Sakkari in what could be an excellent contest.

Louis Armstrong Stadium
This is the final day of singles action on the Louis Armstrong Stadium court and there will be three of them on show. They begin with the women’s Olympic champion Belinda Bencic on show against the former French Open champion Iga Swiatek in what is the match of the day. When they are done the other American man on show on Monday will take to the court when Reilly Opelka meets Lloyd Harris before the other men’s match finishes off the play when the qualifier Oscar Otte takes on the powerful Italian player Matteo Berrettini.
Grandstand
There is one final singles match in the tournament out on the Grandstand court as well on Monday and it comes after a bunch of doubles action as the beaten finalists at the last two Grand Slams collide under the floodlights when Wimbledon runner up Karolina Pliskova meets the French Open bridesmaid Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova for a place in the quarter final of another major tournament.
Betting
There is only the one bet that interests me over the course of the day on Monday and it comes in the opener on the Arthur Ashe Stadium court as our outright bet Alexander Zverev takes on Jannik Sinner. Obviously I hope the German makes it through this match to extend our outright punt into at least the quarter final and I think he will but I expect the Italian to give of his all and run Zverev close at the very least before he departs the scene.
The bet I like in the match comes in the form of over 33.5 games where we’ll get that covered with a couple of close sets but we’ll certainly have the over landing in four sets and I fancy Sinner can put it all together for an hour or so and take a set of Zverev. Jack Sock took a set off the German and Sinner has more about his game than the American does. I expect Zverev to come through here but not before we move into game 34.
Tips
Back A.Zverev vs J.Sinner – Over 33.5 games for a 3/10 stake at 1.91 with William Hill
