Vitality Blast 2022 – Sunday 29th May Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The Vitality Blast continues on Sunday as both group tables begin to form with sides playing their second or third game of the campaign when six matches take place across the two sections on what should be a good day of cricket.

With the Indian Premier League final getting the televised attention on Sunday afternoon, if you want to follow any bets across these matches you will need to load up the excellent county streams to do so.

North Group

The Birmingham Bears lead the way in the North Group after a couple of high scoring wins and they will look to maintain their advantage when they welcome Durham to Edgbaston. Yorkshire are their closest pursuers and they are also in action on Sunday. They are back at home at Headingley looking to keep their undefeated start to the season intact when they host Leicestershire. Lancashire and Worcestershire go in search of their first win of the competition when they meet each other at Old Trafford.

South Group

Middlesex are what many would consider to be surprise leaders in the South Group after a couple of victories to begin their season and they will go looking for a third successive victory when they host Glamorgan at Radlett. Two sides who are yet to win a match this season meet at Hove where Sussex take on the champions Kent, while the later game to kick off comes from down at Taunton where Somerset will look to build on their opening win when they host an Essex side who have also won their only match so far this term.

Betting

I’ll go with a couple of bets over the course of the day with the first one coming in the form of the champions Kent for their clash against a Sussex side who will look to be being priced up on the reputation of old rather than the here and now. The opening two matches have been a real concern for Sussex. Mohammad Rizwan has come to the party but they have put up inadequate scores on both occasions. There is no getting away from the fact that their bowling attack is a lot weaker than even as recently as last season, especially if Tymal Mills doesn’t play, so this is a good chance for Kent to get their first win. Kent haven’t played badly in either of their two matches. They got the rough end of conditions in their opener and then got mugged late on in the second one but you sense they will tidy up what they need to and when they do they’ll get back to winning matches. I like Kent to start that here.

The other bet I like is for there to be over 330.5 runs in the match between Middlesex and Glamorgan at Radlett. We saw on Thursday just how high scoring a ground this is and I see no reason why that is going to change here. Glamorgan have already posted 173 in the competition at The Oval this term so we know their batting can do it. That Surrey attack is better than the one they’ll go up against here too. If you take Michael Hogan out of the equation, and I’m not convinced he is going to get a lot of help in this Radlett track, Glamorgan have conceded a few runs. Middlesex bat very deep so this all looks like another high scoring match on a ground that rarely delivers anything but that.
