We are closing in on the halfway point in the Vitality Blast competition and we get a little nearer on Sunday when six matches are played out across the two groups as the tables begin to offer up a little separation at long last.
The T20 World Cup has the TV attention on Sunday so if you have a bet on these games and want to follow them then you need to load up the live stream which will be made available by the home county.
North Group
Lancashire have stolen a march on the rest in the North Group and will look to preserve their gap at the top of the table when they go up against a Durham side who have had an annoying week with poor run chases and the weather getting in their way. Five teams begin the day on six points on Sunday, four behind Lancashire, and two of them meet at Headingley when Yorkshire host Leicestershire while two more are on show when Derbyshire host the Birmingham Bears. The other team on that mark are Northamptonshire and they make the trip to New Road to take on Worcestershire.

South Group
Just the two matches take place in the South Group on Sunday and that means that there is a chance for the defending champions Somerset to go back to the top of the table. They play host to a Glamorgan side who will be looking to find some consistency pretty quickly. The other match sees two of the bottom three in the table going at it at Canterbury where Kent will look to get their campaign back on track when Gloucestershire are the visitors to the St Lawrence Ground.
Betting
Given all the rain that has been around I’m not going to go mad on Sunday, although thankfully it does look as though the weather is going to clear up enough for the majority of these matches to be played out in full but we don’t know what the conditions are going to be like. I will go with one bet though and that comes down at Taunton where I’m expecting another high scoring game to go with the two that have been played in full there.
There have been two games here with the scores being 193/6 vs 197/6 and 241/5 vs 178 so runs are flowing here and in the match between Somerset and Glamorgan I’m expecting the sixes to come pretty readily too. Somerset have a top five as powerful as anything in the competition who smash sixes at their home ground but Glamorgan aren’t far behind in the batting power stakes. The key thing here is there is no real mystery in either attack. Mason Crane will be back for Glamorgan but he’s pretty expensive so with two power loaded batting units and a couple of bowling attacks which can go the distance over 13.5 sixes looks a safe play to me.
