The two singles draws at the WDF World Darts Championship continues inside the Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green on Tuesday when the second round matches keep on coming throughout two sessions of play.
We have some big names and potential winners of the two draws on show across what looks to be a decent day of darts as we move closer to determining who will be involved in the business end of the tournament at the weekend.
Afternoon Session
A really good afternoon session begins with the Slovenian player Benjamin Pratnemer going up against the dark horse for the tournament in Carl Wilkinson to get the action up and running. When they are done we dip into the women’s draw for the match between Desi Mercer and Jitka Cisarova, one of the more impressive winners in the first round. The remainder of the session comes from the men’s draw where we have Thomas Junghans taking on James Beeton before the afternoon concludes with another juicy looking contest between Ryan Hogarth and Jarno Bottenberg.

Evening Session
The stars come out to play in the evening session on Tuesday when the favourite for both events compete in the first two matches. We begin with the men’s favourite Jimmy van Schie. He has a meeting with Bjorn Lejon to overcome before Beau Greaves begins the defence of her women’s title when she takes on Kirsi Viinikainen. The second half of the evening is all about the men where we have Paul Lim back on the famous stage in the penultimate of the night when he takes on Kai Fan Leung. We then conclude the day with the 2022 winner Neil Duff getting his campaign underway when he goes up against Reece Colley.
Betting
There isn’t a huge amount that I like on Tuesday but that evening session almost merits a betting interest because it is a really good one and the bet I do like is for Paul Lim to come through against Kai Fan Leung either 3-0 or 3-1. I thought going into the tournament that Leung was a vulnerable seed and given the way that the Singapore man played in the opening round that is very much the case here. Leung lost 3-1 in this round to Thomas Junghans last year and I am expecting history to repeat itself.
Lim averaged 90 in the first round of the tournament and you would imagine with a little more room to breathe over the best of five sets that he is a good thing to push that average again. If he does then he is going to be very tough to beat. He has all the stage experience needed and can still mix it at a much higher level than this. Winning the tournament is going to be hard at his age with him having to play four days in a row if he gets through here but I expect him to have too much for the man from Hong Kong in this encounter.
