The Premier League returns from the international break on Saturday and it does so with one of the most hyped up matches of the season along with what looks to be a pretty competitive support cast as we head towards the end of the first quarter of the campaign.
It is a typical Saturday with three kick off times in operation and with all of the title challengers in action it should be a pivotal day in the competition.
Early Kick Off
Unless you have been in a coma or don’t have Sky Sports you can’t help to know that the early game this week is between Liverpool and Manchester United. This match has been hyped up to extreme levels to the point that even if it is a fantastic game of football it may still only disappoint. We saw last season though that with the extra hype can become a very ordinary match. As a neutral hopefully this one will be good rather than a repeat of last year.
3pm Matches
There are just five matches in the regular 3pm slot on Saturday. The pick of them is probably the one between the leaders Man City and Stoke City at the Etihad while all eyes will be on Wembley Stadium to see if Spurs can pick up a first home win when they entertain Bournemouth. There is a battle of claret and blue at Turf Moor when Burnley play host to West Ham while the other two matches see Swansea taking on Huddersfield at the Liberty Stadium and Crystal Palace taking on Chelsea in a London derby at Selhurst Park.
Late Game
The second London derby of the day is the late match which comes from Vicarage Road when two sides in the top eight do battle as Watford host Arsenal. The winner is likely to keep ground with those up at the top end of the table while the team which loses could find themselves slipping down the table. All eyes will be on Arsenal to see if they can continue their good recent form.

Betting
I like two bets over the course of the day and they both come in goal lines. I’m tempted to take Man Utd in the big match but I am very wary that the match has been hyped up to the point that it can only disappoint.
Another match which is likely to disappoint, if there are any expectations on it for disappointment to be a possibility, is the one between Swansea City and Huddersfield Town. This is a match where I don’t see many goals. Huddersfield have only netted five times all season and three of those came on the opening day. Swansea are even worse. They’ve only scored three times and two of them were on the same afternoon as well. On the flip side both sides don’t concede many. Huddersfield have shipped just seven while Swansea only eight and both have lost a game 4-0 in among that. You’d have to say goals are likely to be a minimum at the Liberty on Saturday.
While I don’t expect goals at the Liberty I do expect them at Vicarage Road where I have yet to see a Marco Silva side look likely to contain one of the bigger sides in the league. Liverpool went there and scored three and Man City went there and declared on six. Arsenal have scored three times on their last two visits to Watford and with the Silva style I’m expecting the Gunners to have as much success here. Arsenal are missing some defensive players though so you’ve got to think Watford may be able to turn this into a shootout in which case I like a bet on over 3 goals especially as you have to go back 10 meetings for the last time a match between these two did not contain three goals.
