2017-18 Premier League – Saturday 3rd February Matches Betting Preview

Another Premier League weekend commences on Saturday and with matches to come on Sunday and Monday we have plenty to get stuck into in the top flight over the next few days. After a round of midweek matches it will be interesting to see who is at it and who isn’t.

This is one of those Saturday’s which is becoming the norm with three kick off times in total with a number of big sides in action. We have to wait until Sunday for the main match of the round but the support cast on Saturday doesn’t look too bad.

Early Kick Off

Things begin at Turf Moor on Saturday lunchtime when Manchester City look to move an amazing 18 points clear at the top of the table when they head to a Burnley side who could do with a win to get back to where they were earlier in the campaign. City have only dropped points in three matches while Burnley are without a win in eight Premier League fixtures.

3pm Matches

Bournemouth will be looking to back up their win over Chelsea in midweek when they play host to Stoke City. The famous Lord Mayor’s Show line could be written for Bournemouth if they don’t win that game. Two sides at the wrong end of the table meet at the Amex Stadium when Brighton play host to West Ham while Swansea will look to continue their recovery at the foot of the table when they head to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester.

Manchester United can temporarily put six points between them and the chasing pack in the race for second place when they host a Huddersfield Town side who have already beaten them once this season while West Brom welcome Southampton to The Hawthorns in what looks like a six pointer at the foot of the table.

Late Game

A busy day in the Premier League concludes at the Emirates Stadium where Arsenal fans may have to wait a little longer to see their new signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Their side entertain Everton who will be looking to win back-to-back matches after their win against Leicester in midweek. Sam Allardyce’s side look to be safe enough from the drop so they can give this a good go in what is Theo Walcott’s return to the Emirates.

Betting

I’ll go with two bets over the course of the day. The first is in the big match at the bottom where it is hard to ignore the improvement in West Brom since Alan Pardew has taken over. He has added Daniel Sturridge to his squad to give him more firepower in open play and I think his side will get the better of Southampton. If we ignore the defeat to Man City in midweek because everyone loses to them, the Baggies’ only defeat in five came at West Ham when the schedule went against them. Southampton’s winless run is now at 12 matches in the Premier League and while they’ve drawn a lot in that time they’ve only won one away game all season and that was at a dreadful Crystal Palace at the time. I’m very surprised West Brom are the outsiders in places here but I’ll jump on.

I expect the day to finish with a bunch of goals when a very leaky Everton defence takes on an Arsenal side who just can’t defend. Allardyce can be guilty of not having a go in these matches but the way his side are defending I think attack could be their best form of defence. Even if they don’t have a go we only have to look back to Arsenal’s last home game to see how devastating they can be. I think over 3 goals looks an obvious bet but it should reward us.
