There are just six matches on Saturday to open up the final weekend of the Premier League prior to the next international break. With a massive Sunday lined up with many of the title challengers in action we are left with the support cast and the story at the bottom of the table to enjoy on Saturday.
Liverpool are the only team who are expected to challenge for the title who will be in action on Saturday. They get the chance to steal a march on the others who feature on Sunday.
Early Kick Off
The action begins at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday when Stoke City host Leicester City in a battle of two sides who are looking to build on much needed wins last weekend. Those wins gave both a bit of breathing space at the foot of the table and they would both like another three points on top of that to allow them to enjoy the international break a little more.
3pm Matches
Just the four matches take place at the usual kick off time on Saturday. At the John Smith’s Stadium, Huddersfield play host to West Brom while Southampton welcome Burnley to St Mary’s Stadium. Newcastle take on Bournemouth at St James’ Park with Swansea facing Brighton in the other match of the afternoon at the Liberty Stadium.
Late Game
It ends at the London Stadium where two sides who need a win meet when West Ham United take on Liverpool. Liverpool go into the weekend 12pts off the leaders Man City and defeat here would end any ambitions they have of winning the league even at this stage. West Ham are at the wrong end of the table and will want to sort that out.

Betting
I like three bets over the course of Saturday. Huddersfield have been very good at home this season. Only Tottenham have been to the John Smith’s Stadium and won this season and the Terriers beat Man Utd there last time out. A good reason for their success has been their defensive abilities but they showed against United that they can score. West Brom head to Yorkshire with no win in eight and with confidence likely to be low I think this is a danger game for them. They don’t score goals on the road so I like the home side here.
Two more sides who don’t score many goals meet at St Mary’s where Southampton take on Burnley and I’m expecting a low scoring game there. Saints have only scored six goals at home in six matches this term and three of them came in the one game. Burnley set up to contain rather than be expansive go under 2.25 looks the obvious play here.
In the later game I do expect to see goals. West Ham and Liverpool are two of the worst sides in the league when it comes to defending. Liverpool have already shipped 15 goals on the road this term while West Ham are leaking 1.9 goals per game on average this season. They have started to score goals which is encouraging though and with both attacks infinitely better than their respective defences the day should end with a number of goals.
