2017 German Darts Grand Prix – Last 16 Betting Preview

The German Darts Grand Prix concludes on Sunday beginning with the last 16 stage of the tournament in the afternoon session before the remainder of the competition is completed in a busy evening session.

As ever with these events time restrictions will deny us the chance to preview the evening session but with a couple of outrights still in the tournament hopefully they can continue to progress and give us some interest in the final stages of the competition.

First Four Matches

The afternoon begins with a bang as Mensur Suljovic takes on Rob Cross in a very interesting looking match before Daryl Gurney is back in action. He faces off against the solid and reliable Ian White. Darren Webster and Benito van de Pas then do battle before the top half matches conclude with Ronny Huybrechts taking on Vincent van der Voort.

Second Four Matches

Simon Whitlock is on the stage in the first match after the interval. He was meant to face Dave Chisnall but instead will play Nathan Aspinall before Michael Smith meets Joe Cullen. The penultimate match of the round should be a cracker as Kyle Anderson plays Jelle Klaasen and then Michael van Gerwen meets Gerwyn Price to round off the afternoon.

Betting

I’m going with one on Sunday and it comes in the opening match of the day where I fancy Rob Cross to see off Mensur Suljovic. These two have met twice in the past and they have both been this year and Cross has won them both. He looked in excellent form on Saturday too whereas Suljovic struggled.

I noted last weekend when taking on Suljovic how he can have certain players he struggles against and Cross could well be another. Cross scored like a dream on Saturday and if he does that again on Sunday he can have the number of the Austrian.

Tips

WON – Back R.Cross to beat M.Suljovic for a 4/10 stake at 1.95 with Betfair
