The NatWest T20 Blast continues with five more matches on Sunday before a day off on Monday. Both tables are starting to form now as we slowly head towards the halfway stage of the group table and the sides in action on Sunday will get a chance to catapult themselves into the mix or deeper into contention.
These matches all take place in the afternoon where the Test match gets the TV coverage so we will be relying on the other forms of keeping up to date with the action.
North Group
There are two matches in the North Group on Sunday with three teams in with a chance of taking top spot in the table. Leicestershire are no strangers to going well in this competition having won it three times and they head to Edgbaston to take on Birmingham Bears with the winner potentially topping the table. Derbyshire are the other side who can reach the summit. They face Lancashire at Old Trafford.
South Group
With none of the top three in action on Sunday the other six sides in the group have the chance to enhance their positions. Essex host Glamorgan at Chelmsford with both sides looking to move up the table. Middlesex can go second in the group table if they can beat Somerset at Uxbridge while second spot is also possible for Gloucestershire when they host bottom of the table Sussex at Cheltenham.

Betting
I like three bets across these matches. I’ll begin in the North Group where Leicestershire are overpriced to beat Birmingham Bears. I took on Birmingham on Friday night to success and the way Leicestershire are playing there is no doubt in my mind they are a big price. We saw Birmingham’s middle to lower order struggle the other night because it hasn’t had a lot of cricket and I suspect that could happen again here. Leicestershire are bowling well and batting solidly and can win this.
Somerset have drawn a right old short straw here. They were in Cardiff on Saturday night and although the match was eventually rained off it wasn’t called off officially until around 9pm so by the time they had changed and done all the media and things they wouldn’t have been away until well after 10pm and have to play in Uxbridge just over 12hrs after a fairly long journey.
Middlesex had the same problem of backing up a performance the next day on Friday and failed but I won’t hold that against them. They have Toby Roland-Jones back for this match so they should be even stronger than the team that beat Surrey on Thursday and they should have far too much for a poor Somerset team who might well have been outclassed without the scheduling issues.
The other bet I like is for Glamorgan to hit more than 4.5 sixes at Chelmsford. Admittedly they have the same issue as Somerset but you tend to find that catches up with a side in the field not with the bat and these boundaries are so small that I expect this line to be covered. We saw in the little cricket we did get on Saturday night how much intent Glamorgan have with the bat. If Ingram has a day out he’ll cover this on his own but with Lloyd, Donald, Rudolph, Cooke and Wagg all able to get the long handle out this 4.5 line is nowhere near high enough.
