2017 NatWest T20 Blast – Sunday 9th July Matches Betting Preview

The Test match continues on Sunday and so does the NatWest T20 Blast with five more matches in England’s domestic competition. These matches are in the afternoon and so they don’t have TV coverage but there will be the various other means of keeping up to date with events.

We have matches in the North Group and the South Group on what is a relatively busy afternoon with some sides beginning their campaigns and others continuing theirs.

North Group

There are two matches in this group on Sunday. The first of them sees two sides who lost their opening games on Friday night going up against each other when Durham take on Northamptonshire at Chester-le-Street while Lancashire, winners on the opening night, take on Leicestershire who begin their campaign in this match.

South Group

Three matches take place in this group on Sunday afternoon and have a side who have played a match taking on a team who haven’t yet. Kent begin their tournament when they host Essex at Beckenham while Surrey play their first home game looking to build on their win over Essex. They face Somerset who play their opening match. Sussex are the other side to kick off their campaign. They welcome Glamorgan to Arundel.

Betting

After two profitable days to begin the tournament I am not going to push the boat out on Sunday. I am going in with just the one bet despite a couple of bookmakers offering plenty of side markets on the majority of these matches.

Northamptonshire are the side I am interested in. They lost out in a high scoring match on Friday night but Derbyshire have franked that form by seeing off Yorkshire on Saturday. Durham were given a good going over by Lancashire which as a standalone result is no shame but they look too inexperienced for my liking.

I’ve a feeling Northants needed that match on Friday night to throw away any rust that they might have and I expect a better performance from them in this game. It may not take much to beat this Durham side but whatever it takes I think the defending champions have it.

Tips

WON – Back Northamptonshire to beat Durham for a 4/10 stake at 1.91 with Ladbrokes
