Week ten of the NFL season gets underway on Thursday night when the Arizona Cardinals host the Seattle Seahawks in a tasty looking NFC West clash. Los Angeles Rams lead the division but whoever wins this will give themselves every chance of catching them.
These two sides have lacked consistency this season so both will be aiming to pick up a win here and then build on it over the rest of the campaign in a bid to win the division or push for a play-off spot.
Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals go into this match with their second choice quarterback starting the game after Carson Palmer broke his arm in the loss to the Los Angeles Rams prior to their bye week. That was not ideal for an offense which has been without its best player David Johnson since the opening week of the season. Drew Stanton came in last week and led the Cardinals to a win over San Francisco last week.
Adrian Peterson is likely to see plenty of the ball on the offensive plays but that might not be a bad thing. If he can prove that he is still an elite running back then lengthy drives will keep the Seattle offense off the field which in turn will ease the burden on their defence. In fairness their defence hasn’t really been struggling too much which is a positive.
Seattle Seahawks
Seattle head into the season with a 5-3 record but that form took a hit last week when they were beaten by the Washington Redskins. That was a match where they struggled offensively with Russell Wilson unable to get anything going. All eyes will be on him and his attacking unit to see what they can produce off the back of a short week.
On the other side of the ball we know the Seahawks defence is solid and apart from their match against Houston recently when Deshaun Watson gave them all kinds of problems teams have found it difficult to score against them. If that continues this will be a really interesting match up on both sides of the ball.

Betting
I’m not normally one for taking big handicaps on away sides in Thursday night games but I can’t really avoid it here. Prior to last week against San Francisco the Arizona Cardinals had shipped 30+ points in three successive matches. I’m not sure an easy ride from an awful 49ers side has changed a lot.
With the exception of last week the Seattle Seahawks offense had got its act together and against a weaker defence here I’m expecting to see it functioning well again. If they can put up a decent game offensively then we know their defence isn’t going to ship too many so I’ll take the visitors to cover six points here.
