The final matches in the regular season in the NFL take place on Sunday with all 32 teams in action on a monster day of American Football with plenty still on the line. Seven of the eight divisions have been decided but there is one title to be confirmed on Sunday while the wildcard race is set to play out many twists and turns. We should be in for an exciting conclusion to the regular season.
1pm kick offs (6pm UK time)
In terms of the live game in the UK it is the AFC number one seed that is up for grabs when the New England Patriots host the New York Jets. A win for the Patriots guaranteed them home field advantage throughout the postseason. Anything else will open the door for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Steelers would then have to beat the Cleveland Browns to secure the number one spot. Elsewhere the Minnesota Vikings host the Chicago Bears while the Green Bay Packers head to the Detroit Lions to round things off in the NFC North. Indianapolis Colts host the Houston Texans while the Philadelphia Eagles host the Dallas Cowboys. The New York Giants welcome the Washington Redskins to town in the other match.
4pm kick offs (9pm UK time)
It is all about the NFC South in the later kick off matches. The New Orleans Saints hold the advantage and if they win in Tampa Bay then they will win the division and host a playoff match. If they slip up the Carolina Panthers will win the division if they beat the Atlanta Falcons in the live game. The Falcons hold the upper hand in the race for the wildcard though. If they win they are in next week. If they lose the Seattle Seahawks can still snatch the number six seed if they beat the Arizona Cardinals.
Elsewhere it is all about the final wildcard spot in the AFC. The Tennessee Titans currently hold that and if they beat the Jacksonville Jaguars they will head on the road next week. If they don’t they open the door for the Los Angeles Chargers and the Buffalo Bills. The Chargers host the Oakland Raiders while the Bills go to the Miami Dolphins. The other matches see the Baltimore Ravens hosting Cincinnati with a win giving them the number five seed while the Los Angeles Rams host the San Francisco 49ers.

Betting
We have to be careful for this final round of the regular season because there are a number of teams who are resting their starters and that brings way too much guesswork into play for my liking so I’m sticking purely to matches we know will have a competitive edge. With that in mind there is one bet I like over the course of the evening.
It comes in Atlanta where the Atlanta Falcons and the Carolina Panthers can combine for an entertaining match. Both these offenses have the power to do damage and if ever there is a time for the Falcons offense to turn up to full power it is here. Both sides can make plays on defence but this is must win for both so as the scoring begins risks will need to be taken to stay alive. That can see the points soar beyond a total of 45.
