The final day of two table snooker action at the World Championship at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield takes place on Wednesday and at the end of it we will know the identity of the four men who will progress to the one table format for the semi-finals and the final of the tournament.
All four quarter finals began on Tuesday and all four will conclude on another day of mouth-watering snooker action on Wednesday. We’re reaching the business end now where the drama and tension really rises.
Day 11 Recap
The heavyweight clash between Ding Junhui and Ronnie O’Sullivan is two thirds of the way through now and it is the man from China who has opened up a 10-6 lead. John Higgins and Kyren Wilson have also played two sessions with the former champion Higgins leading 11-5.
The two matches which played only one session on Tuesday saw Mark Selby open up a 6-2 lead on a Marco Fu who barely turned up and Barry Hawkins ran into an early 5-3 lead on Stephen Maguire. Those two matches have two sessions on Wednesday.

Betting
I fancy we might see a couple of comebacks on Wednesday. Ronnie O’Sullivan trails 10-6 heading into the final session but we saw Ding surrender a lead pretty quickly in the final session in the last round and while he fell over the line against Liang Wenbo if O’Sullivan starts coming back at Ding here the Chinese player has all sorts of mental baggage to overcome.
I get the feeling O’Sullivan came here to launch a significant assault on this tournament and I don’t think he’s going without a fight. If he wins three of the first four and gets it back to 11-9 he will certainly fancy the job and even at 7/2 I think there is mileage in the Rocket in this one.
Marco Fu was terrible in the opening session against Mark Selby and I mean terrible but I didn’t think the defending champion was great. Fu can’t possibly play that badly again and if Selby isn’t ready to improve then Fu could easily find his way back into the match. He needs to win the second session but even if he wins that 5-3 he’s bang in the match at 7-9. I’m convinced there is a bit of mileage in Fu at big prices.
