2018-19 Premier League – Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace Betting Preview

The Premier League weekend concludes with the Monday Night Football which this week sees the show head to Dorset for the clash between Bournemouth and Crystal Palace inside the Vitality Stadium.

Bournemouth have made an impressive start to the season while Crystal Palace have shown flashes of their own danger at times in the campaign. Both teams like to attack so we should be in for a decent encounter here.

Bournemouth

The Cherries go into the match with three wins from their six matches so far but they were given a right good beating by Burnley last weekend so they will be looking to respond to that with a victory back in front of their own fans. Bournemouth have a couple of wins and a draw on their own patch this season which should give them some confidence.

One area of concern for Eddie Howe could come in the form of his back line. Having kept a clean sheet on the opening day of the season and restricted West Ham to little they have conceded two or more in each of their last four matches. That is something that he will need to address not just for this match but also going forward.

Crystal Palace

It has been an up and down start to the campaign for Crystal Palace but they go into this match unbeaten in a couple of games and with successive clean sheets so Roy Hodgson might think his side are ready to climb the table. It should be said that they have only played Huddersfield and Newcastle in that time but it would be hard to criticise two solid efforts.

The danger for the Eagles is that they are becoming a one man team and their record with and without Wilfried Zaha is chalk and cheese. With that in mind the two goals Andros Townsend scored in midweek could be significant. Palace do have three clean sheets in six matches but each time they have conceded they have lost and there could be something in that.

Team News

Dan Gosling could be out for Bournemouth in this match as he has a calf injury but there is half a chance that Charlie Daniels could make a return from a knee issue. Kyle Taylor has been ruled out however.

Christian Benteke will remain on the sidelines with a knee niggle while Jairo Riedewald picked up an injury in the Carabao Cup tie and has been ruled out as a result. Wilfried Zaha is fit while Andros Townsend will hope to get a start.

Betting

Although only one of the first six Crystal Palace matches this season have contained more than 2.5 goals I think this one can be the second. Both meetings between the two teams ended 2-2 last season so there is a recent history of goals in the fixture and this is another one of those matches where both sides will believe they can win.

Palace are dangerous on the counter attack and Bournemouth love to get men forward and around the opposing penalty area so it isn’t a surprise that there were goals between them last year. There should be here too so I’m happy to jump on over 2.5 goals.
