2018-19 Premier League – Saturday 15th September Matches Betting Preview

The Premier League returns from the international break on Saturday with the usual amount of fixtures spread over the course of three kick off times. The league table is beginning to take shape and all the leading contenders are on show on Saturday.

That should ensure that we have a decent day in the competition with some great matches, big players and standout sides going at it over the course of the day. There looks to be some decent betting potential too.

Early Kick Off

We probably get the best match out of the way in the first game of the day when Tottenham Hotspur play host to the early pacesetters Liverpool in a real standout contest. Their two matches last year were full of qualify and drama and I don’t think too many are expecting anything different here it must be said.

3pm Matches

There are five matches in the traditional 3pm slot with the pick of them probably coming from St James’ Park where Newcastle United go in search of their first win of the campaign when they host Arsenal. Bournemouth take on Leicester City in one of the other matches at the Vitality Stadium while Chelsea play host to Cardiff at Stamford Bridge. The other two matches see Huddersfield Town taking on Crystal Palace and the champions Manchester City entertaining Fulham.

Late Game

The action concludes at Vicarage Road where the early season surprise packages Watford take on a Manchester United side about whom plenty has been written and who are set up to fall but who equally should be bang up for silencing some of their critics. This will be one of the tougher tests of the season so far for the Hornets.

Betting

There are three matches where I expect the goals to flow on Saturday and I’m going to take the over in two of them. The first of those is in the opening match of the day where I’m once again surprised we are getting a 2.75 goal line on a Liverpool match. Not only is their attack so potent but they do still have goals against them readily available as Leicester showed. Spurs might be without Dele Alli but Hugo Lloris’ ansence won’t hurt the goal potential. Tottenham still have Kane, Moura and Eriksen and this big open Wembley pitch should set up three goals at the very least if not more.

Newcastle have been criticised for their defensive tactics in certain matches this season but I’m not expecting them to employ those plans against an Arsenal side whose defence has been exposed throughout the campaign. Even Cardiff bagged twice against them last time out so I’m expecting to see plenty of goals at St James’ Park. Arsenal do look to have goals in them under Emery but Newcastle shouldn’t be short of chances. We can exploit a 2.75 goal line here as well.
