There are two Premier League matches on Wednesday evening on what must be considered as one of the biggest nights of the season so far, including an iconic clash as well as another extremely important one.
One of the two games is live on TV for those of us who are in the UK and then the usual many ways of keeping up with the other on a night where the title race, battle for the top four and tussle for seventh are all in the spotlight.
Manchester United vs Manchester City
The eyes of everyone will be on Old Trafford as Manchester United take on Manchester City in a huge match in both the title picture and the race for the top four. Manchester City can maintain control of their own destiny with a win but United need the points to stay relevant in the top four charge.
There are all sorts of conspiracy theories going round as to whether United will want to win this and potentially hand Liverpool the title or lose and dent their own top four hopes. I’m surprised people think they have the choice after the way they played at Everton on Sunday though. Obviously we should expect a better performance from United given the match but there is a huge gulf for them to overcome.
Man City are fully focused on the Premier League table and have looked very strong in the league for some time. Such is their need to just win the scores haven’t always reflected how comfortable things have been for them. Whether they continue to adopt that tactic or feast on this rotten United back line remains to be seen. I expect City to win this match but the way United have to play here I fancy over 2.75 goals as well.

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Arsenal
While Manchester is settling its differences Wolverhampton Wanderers and Arsenal will be doing battle at Molineux with the home side looking to arrest their slump and the visitors desperately looking for the victory to make them major players in the top four race once again.
Wolves look like they have run their race this term, understandably given the monumental disappointment they suffered at Wembley earlier in the month, so Arsenal look to have the ideal chance to pick up a much needed win. I can’t be having Arsenal away from home though and I’m in no rush to back Wolves anymore so this is a pretty comfortably swerve for me.
