We are heading towards double figures in terms of matches for each team in Sky Bet League 1 and there is another full fixture list for us to get stuck into in the third tier over what should be another decent Saturday in the division.
The contenders are beginning to show themselves towards the head of the division now while those who might struggle are also beginning to be highlighted. The middle of the table looks tight though so there is a chance for all of that to change with a win on Saturday.
Saturday’s fixtures are as follows:
Accrington Stanley v AFC Wimbledon
Barnsley v Burton Albion
Blackpool v Luton Town
Bristol Rovers v Coventry City
Charlton Athletic v Plymouth Argyle
Doncaster Rovers v Bradford City
Gillingham v Peterborough United
Oxford United v Walsall
Portsmouth v Wycombe Wanderers
Scunthorpe United v Shrewsbury Town
Southend United v Fleetwood Town
Sunderland v Rochdale
Big Matches
The leaders Portsmouth are in action on Saturday when they host Wycombe Wanderers at Fratton Park while Peterborough United will be looking to take advantage of any slip up when they head to Gillingham. Barnsley in third place host Burton Albion in a battle of two sides who were relegated last season and who will want an immediate return to the second tier.
Best of the Rest
Sunderland are at home on Saturday when they play host to a Rochdale side who are unbeaten in three matches while Doncaster Rovers will look to continue their good form when they welcome troubled Bradford City to the Keepmoat. Walsall in sixth look to get back to winning ways when they head to Oxford while Charlton Athletic host Plymouth Argyle. Revenge is the name of the game for Luton when they make the long trip to take on Blackpool.

Betting
I expect the top two to continue to stand out this week. Portsmouth are in fine form and showed they are the team to beat this season when they went to Peterborough last week to win and I expect them to follow that up with a win against Wycombe on Saturday. Wycombe have been competitive this season but when they’ve been away to sides in the top half they have shipped three at Charlton and the same number at Doncaster so there is a real gulf between them and those in the higher echelons of the league. Portsmouth are starting to fire on all cylinders. They are tough to break down and have plenty of goals in them. I think they’ll have too much here.
Peterborough United are perfect away from home this season and have been impressing in winning their four matches too with 13 goals in those matches. It isn’t like they have had easy matches either as they have been to Rochdale, Charlton and Southend and won. I think they can win at Gillingham too. The Gills began the season in good form but I always thought they were punching above their weight and they have slid down the table accordingly. They are now five without a win and it is hard to see that run ending against a rampant Posh side who will be eager to make up for their first loss last weekend.
