It might be the international break in the top two divisions but that does not stop another round of matches in Sky Bet League 1 taking place with the bulk of those fixtures coming on a busy but potentially entertaining Saturday afternoon.
All these matches are being streamed live on the club’s iFollow service on their websites so there is no reason to miss a minute of any of them. We have to wait until Sunday for the televised action in this division though.
Saturday’s fixtures are as follows: (3pm unless stated)
Bristol Rovers v Plymouth Argyle (1.30pm)
Accrington Stanley v Burton Albion
Barnsley v Walsall
Blackpool v Bradford City
Charlton Athletic v Wycombe Wanderers
Doncaster Rovers v Luton Town
Gillingham v AFC Wimbledon
Portsmouth v Shrewsbury Town
Scunthorpe United v Rochdale
Southend United v Peterborough United
Sunderland v Fleetwood Town
Big Matches
The leaders Peterborough United head to Southend United in the big match of the day while second placed Portsmouth play host to Shrewsbury Town. Two unbeaten sides meet at Oakwell as Barmsley in third host Walsall in fifth while Sunderland in fourth, the only other undefeated side in the competition, host Fleetwood Town who go into the weekend in sixth place in the table.
Best of the Rest
Charlton Athletic will be looking to push on now that Lee Bowyer has been installed as permanent manager and they look to have a good chance to do that when they take on Wycombe Wanderers. The first game of the day comes from the Memorial Stadium as Bristol Rovers host Plymouth while there should be an entertaining match between two footballing sides as Doncaster Rovers host Luton Town. Accrington will look to extend their unbeaten run when they host Burton Albion.

Betting
I’ll go with just the one on Saturday which is a Portsmouth side who I’m very surprised we can get at even money to pick up another Fratton Park win when they entertain Shrewsbury Town. I’ve seen both these sides and Portsmouth looked on a much stronger level to the Shrews and I expect that to play out here.
Shrewsbury head into the match still looking for a first league win of the campaign while Portsmouth have only dropped two points all season and they came at Doncaster a couple of weeks ago. Portsmouth are scoring goals and they have one of the best defences in the league. This is a tough ask for Shrewsbury and at the price Portsmouth are a must bet.
