There is a midweek round of matches in Sky Bet League 1 on Tuesday evening with the entire division in action on what should be a big night of football in the third tier as we head towards the end of the first third of the campaign.
The table is beginning to bunch up a little in the middle so the three points will be extremely valuable for many sides. That should ensure we have a competitive night of action to get stuck into.
Tuesday’s fixtures are as follows:
Blackpool v Scunthorpe United
Bradford City v Coventry City
Bristol Rovers v AFC Wimbledon
Charlton Athletic v Oxford United
Doncaster Rovers v Sunderland
Luton Town v Accrington Stanley
Peterborough United v Fleetwood Town
Plymouth Argyle v Gillingham
Portsmouth v Burton Albion
Shrewsbury Town v Barnsley
Southend United v Walsall
Wycombe Wanderers v Rochdale
Big Matches
Portsmouth have opened up a bit of a gap on the rest of the division and they play host to Burton Albion but the biggest match of the night comes from the Keepmoat Stadium where Doncaster Rovers in sixth play host to Sunderland in third. Peterborough United in second welcome Joey Barton and his Fleetwood Town side to London Road. The top two sides from League 2 last season meet at Kenilworth Road where Luton in seventh take on Accrington in fourth.
Best of the Rest
Barnsley head to the New Meadow to take on the beaten play-off finalists of last season in Shrewsbury Town while Walsall in eighth head to Southend United while Coventry, with three wins in a row, make the journey to Bradford City. At the other end of the table two sides in the bottom six meet when Plymouth Argyle host Gillingham while Bristol Rovers go up against AFC Wimbledon at the Memorial Stadium.

Betting
After backing a loser on Saturday I’ll go with just the one bet on Tuesday night in the aim to get back on the straight and narrow again. Charlton Athletic had a wonderful win over Barnsley on Saturday and if they don’t take confidence from that they won’t take it from anything and I fancy they will get the better of Oxford United.
Oxford are yet to win on the road this season and although they have drawn four of their seven away games they are finding scoring very difficult. They only have three goals in those seven games and only one in their last four. Charlton have the attacking quality and power to find the back of the net and one might be enough based on recent Oxford matches. I’ll take Charlton in this one.
Tips
Back Charlton Athletic to beat Oxford United for a 4/10 stake at 1.91 with Betfred
