2018 China Championship Snooker Qualifying – Day 4 Betting Preview

The final day of the qualifying competition for the China Championship is actually a largely quiet and truncated day of action with a number of matches being held over until the final venue negating some of the matches we might have seen on Wednesday.

Most of the big names who were scheduled to be on show this week have already played but we do have one or two household names still to attempt to make it through to the main draw when they play in the two sessions in the day.

Morning Session

Ricky Walden is probably the biggest name on show in the morning session. He faces Yuan Sijun on one of the streamed tables while on the other one Martin Gould goes up against Xu Si. There are three matches on the outside tables too with Rory McLeod playing Ashley Carty on one of them and Noppon Saengkham facing Lu Ning on another. Ken Doherty meets Tian Pengfei in the other match in the session.

Afternoon Session

Ali Carter headlines the final session of play on Wednesday when he takes on Andy Lee on one of the main tables while there is an all-Chinese battle on the other one as Zhou Yuelong faces Luo Honghao. Just two matches take place on the outside tables. Robbie Williams meets Gerard Greene in one of those games and Matthew Stevens will take on Zhao Xintong in the other one.

Betting

There is only one bet I like over the course of the final day and that is a follow up to a bet I took earlier in the week. I backed Zhao Xintong to see off Matthew Stevens in the European Masters qualifying and he duly obliged with a 4-1 win.

I see no reason to avoid the youngster here. He is playing some decent snooker and he should be especially motivated to qualify for a tournament in his homeland. Stevens hasn’t really got going yet this season and he is going to need to be on top form to contain the Chinese star here. Xintong is ticking along nicely and can see off Stevens for the second time in a week.

Tips

WON – Back Z.Xintong (-1.5 frames) to beat M.Stevens for a 4/10 stake at 2.25 with Coral
