2018 World Championship Snooker – Day 10 Betting Preview

The second round of the World Championship concludes inside the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield on Monday and come the end of the two sessions that are taking place we will know the eight men moving forward into the quarter finals.

A couple of the tables are unlikely to see much action on Monday but there are one or two close matches for the crowds packing into the iconic venue to enjoy over the course of the afternoon and evening.

Sunday Recap

No matches were scheduled to finish on Sunday but nobody told John Higgins that script as he thrashed Jack Lisowski 13-1 to earn himself a day off on Monday. Mark Williams enhanced his 5-3 lead into a 10-6 one over Robert Milkins while the two matches which begun on Sunday and played two sessions saw Ding Junhui power into an 8-0 lead which then became 12-4 overnight while there has been no splitting Judd Trump and Ricky Walden who were level at 4-4 after their first session and are 8-8 heading into Monday.

In Play Betting

There is only one match which we can focus on now from a betting point of view and that is the really tight clash between Judd Trump and Ricky Walden. There has never been more than two frames between these two and I’m not convinced we are going to see any more of a difference when this one ends.

Walden has always been in front of Trump heading into the final frame of each session but Trump has responded well and I expect to see much of the same on Monday afternoon. Having backed Walden I hope when things get tight he holds his nerve to get over the line but given the problems both men saw when the finish line arrived in the first round I’m fully expecting to see a 13-11 or 13-12 scoreline here. It would mean either wins 5-3 or 5-4 from here which seems most likely based on what we’ve seen so far and how well both are playing.

Tips

Back J.Trump vs R.Walden – Over 23.5 frames for a 4/10 stake at 1.95 with William Hill
