2019-20 Premier League – Tuesday 23rd June Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The busy start to the return of the Premier League season continues on Tuesday evening when two more matches take place to keep us entertained on a night where four sides with something to play for battle it out for valuable points.

The double header begins at the King Power Stadium before moving to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as four teams continue their campaigns. With each match beginning to take on extra significance it has the feel of a big evening about it.

Leicester City Vs Brighton and Hove Albion (18.00 Sky)

The opening match of the night sees the Champions League chasing Leicester City hosting a Brighton and Hove Albion side who did their survival chances the world of good at the weekend and could go a long way to securing safety with a win here.

Leicester will have been disappointed to drop two points late on at Watford at the weekend but other sides around them in the chase for the top four dropped points so it wasn’t that much of a disaster. Brighton did the reverse against Arsenal. They trailed but then scored late to win and should be looking to take a lot of confidence from that and build towards a sustained period of good form to finish the season with.

I would have been happy to get involved in either the goals or both teams to score in this match but there is a strong chance that Brighton will rotate their attacking players and I’m not convinced their second string is strong enough to get the job done here. Leicester have a big cup tie at the weekend so I wouldn’t be surprised if they make changes either which just puts me off getting involved in this one.

Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham United (20.15 Sky)

The second part of the Tuesday night double header of action would normally be a feisty affair on and off the football pitch as rivals Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United go at each other in a match where both teams should be eager for the points.

Tottenham are unlikely to get the top four now but they know fifth could be enough to get them Champions League football next season, and if they are to get there this is pretty much must win territory for them. West Ham are only out of the bottom three because this is one of the worst Premier League campaigns for quality in living memory. They can strengthen their claims to be in the division next term if they can find a win here.

I can’t see West Ham getting anything from this match. They are a poor side. They might still stay up but I don’t see them troubling Tottenham. To be fair Spurs have impressed nobody for a long time now but they contained Man Utd in the main on Friday night and they have a couple of attacking cogs back to strengthen them at the top end of the pitch. West Ham concede some stupid goals and look tailor made for this Spurs side to exploit. I’ll take the hosts in this one.
