2019 Specsavers County Championship – Sunday 30th June Matches Tips and Betting Preview

There is a near full round of Specsavers County Championship beginning on Sunday as both divisions start to head towards the closing stages of the competition. We are only a couple of weeks away from the break for the T20 so each match is important.

There is a big looking match in both divisions on Sunday so we should be treated to some excellent action, with plenty of it being live streamed on the websites of the various counties who are hosting matches this week.

Division One

The big match in the first division this week sees the leaders Somerset playing host to third placed Hampshire down at Taunton in what is a big game for both sides. It is big because Essex in second head to Trent Bridge to take on Nottinghamshire in a match most are expecting them to win. Yorkshire will be looking for a morale boosting win when they entertain the champions Surrey with the other match seeing Kent and Warwickshire battling it out to pull further clear of danger down at Canterbury.

Division Two

The leaders Glamorgan are back in action this week when they entertain Worcestershire at Sophia Gardens with the visitors really needing to get their season back on track. Lancashire in second place take a game out of the county to Sedburgh when they host Durham there while the other two matches in a division that is setting up quite some title race sees Sussex facing Northamptonshire at Hove and Derbyshire hosting Middlesex up at Derby.

Betting

This competition hasn’t been too kind to me recently so I’m going to go with just the one bet in it this week and hope to build up a run of form slowly. It comes in the Division One match up at Scarborough where I think the hosts could be a little bit vulnerable to a quickly improving defending champions.

Surrey had a good win over Warwickshire last week and we shouldn’t be surprised they are on the upturn at last because they are starting to get key players back and looking better for it. Yorkshire came out of the traps well this season, helped by the form of Gary Ballance but he has gone a little quiet in recent times and as a result the White Rose outfit have struggled a little. Yorkshire will need their batting to stand up and be counted on what is usually a good Scarborough deck but I just think Surrey are better in all departments. I’ll take the visitors to win this one.
