2020-21 Sky Bet Championship – Sunday 27th September Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The Championship weekend concludes with a couple of matches over the course of Sunday afternoon as the league starts getting into a groove with three games under the belt of all sides once these two are played out.

We’ve already seen plenty of competitiveness and a couple of high scoring matches and this is the Championship so nothing is likely to change in that regard from here on in. Neither of these games have TV billing but there are plenty of ways of keeping up to date with them.

Bristol City vs Sheffield Wednesday (13.00)

Two sides are very different ends of the early Championship table meet in the Sunday opener when Bristol City go up against a Sheffield Wednesday side who are seemingly using their point deduction as motivation to get off to a good start this term.

Wednesday sit bottom of the table but don’t let that fool you as they are unbeaten this term and held recently relegated Watford to a 0-0 draw last week which offers up hope to their fans that they will be more than competitive this season. Bristol City have made a fine start to their campaign although in Stoke and Coventry it might be that they’ve not beaten a whole lot and that this could be a better judgement of their form overall. I like Bristol City and would expect them to win this match but the start Wednesday have made is respected enough to leave the game alone.

Bournemouth vs Norwich City (16.00)

The pick of the two matches on Sunday comes in the second of the two games where two of the relegated sides from last season meet at the Vitality Stadium when Bournemouth host Norwich City with both teams looking to lay down their promotion credentials.

Bournemouth have started life in the Championship well enough with a win over a Blackburn Rovers side who have been on fire since then, and a draw against a dogged and determined Middlesbrough outfit. Norwich also have four points from their two matches courtesy of a win over a poor looking Huddersfield Town outfit and a draw with Preston North End which is no bad result. The point is both teams look to have put relegation behind them already which is a positive for them both.

I think we should expect to see goals in this match. Both these teams are better set up to score goals than keep them out. With all the players that have left Bournemouth from a defensive persuasion you have to think Norwich will find openings to exploit while Norwich have never been all that tight under Daniel Farke. Over 2.5 goals is a nice enough price here at around the 10/11 mark and that looks to be the best bet.
