The Royal London One Day Cup returns from a day off with four matches on Tuesday as we move into the second half of the group stage. There is just over a week left of the first stage of the competition so every match matters from here on in.
As has been the case throughout the competition, The Hundred is getting the televised limelight at the minute so again we have to head over to the county streams in order to watch our bets progress, but they are readily accessible and very good.
Group A
We have a couple of matches in Group A on Tuesday and with the top two not in action there is the opportunity for Surrey and Glamorgan to join leaders Somerset on seven points. They meet in one of the two matches at Cardiff where the winners will be very nicely placed. The other match in the group sees Yorkshire hosting Warwickshire at York and this is a match where whoever wins catapults themselves into qualification contention while the losers are probably waiting for the County Championship to return for longer form competitive action.

Group B
The leaders Lancashire are on show in Group B on Tuesday. They are already a point clear at the top and they will be looking to pull further away from second placed Worcestershire who don’t play. They host a pretty average Middlesex side at Old Trafford in a match the home side will be expecting to win. Third placed Essex can go top of the table should Lancashire lose that match. They will need to beat a competitive Gloucestershire side down at Bristol for that to happen. That won’t be easy though because Gloucestershire will join them on points should they win that match.
Betting
There isn’t a whole lot I like over the course of the play on Tuesday but Warwickshire look to be getting their act together in this competition now and they have Dan Mousley back in their squad here which will strengthen them further should he play. Yorkshire have been competitive in this tournament with a whole heap of youngsters but when you break their results down ultimately they have only beaten Leicestershire who seem to be haemorrhaging runs in this competition.
Warwickshire have only beaten Leicestershire and Derbyshire in this competition but they just look a more settled unit. They have a more experienced batting line up and I think on an outground which might play a bit quirky that could be a significant advantage. While Yorkshire scored 329/3 against Leicestershire, they’ve been bowled out for 165 by Surrey and were 69-6 against Northamptonshire before the Steelbacks let them off the hook and then the rain saved them. Warwickshire were well beaten in their first two matches – to Glamorgan who could go top if they win elsewhere on Tuesday and to Nottinghamshire who they caught on the wrong day. I don’t think those are bad defeats and I’ll back them to take advantage of the Yorkshire absentees and pick up a win here.
