We are approaching the halfway mark in the NFL season and another week begins with the Thursday Night Football. This week it comes from Baltimore as the Baltimore Ravens host the Miami Dolphins in an all-AFC clash.
These two are statistically the worst two offensive sides in the league so we might have to wait a few more days for some fireworks but given their positions we should be ensured of a competitive contest at the very least.
Baltimore Ravens
The home side go into the match with a 3-4 record which when you think how much they have struggled is a bit of a result in all fairness. The majority of their struggles have been borne out by a significant injury list but the lack of a plan on offense has not helped and this is nothing new it has to be said.
While the offensive has regularly misfired and struggled the positive for them is that their defence has stood up and been counted and kept them in a number of games. If they can just find a way to move themselves down the field on offense then they could yet go on the sort of run they will need to make the postseason.
Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins haven’t escaped the injury curse either but despite their absentees they have built up a nice 4-2 record which includes winning all three matches since they returned from London. You would struggle to call them convincing at any point in the campaign but there is no better feeling than winning regardless of how it arrives.
Miami scored a season high 31pts in the win over the New York Jets last week which is the first time that they had scored more than 20pts all season but given that they are 4-2 for the campaign that shows how well they have been going defensively. Jay Cutler’s injury could rejuvenate the offense and if that is the case they’ll be dangerous.

Betting
These two have both been to London this year and stunk the place out and I wouldn’t be surprised if the offenses continue to stutter here too given the quality of the defences that oppose them and the injuries they both have offensively.
I’m not expecting this to be a high scoring classic by any means and unless there are a bunch of turnovers leading to points I would imagine the 38.5pt line would go untroubled. Given the opportunity both have to win this match though I would imagine both sides will look to be fairly safe when in possession rather than risk turnovers.
