The last match before the final day of the Premier League season sees West Ham United hosting Manchester United in a match which has little on it at the London Stadium on Thursday evening.
West Ham secured their safety last weekend but they would have been safe by now anyway with results since then. United go in search of a point to guarantee finishing second in the table but in reality they might not even need that.
West Ham United
Although West Ham only really survived for sure last weekend in truth they have been a lot more comfortable than that in recent times, for which David Moyes should get a lot of credit because they were certainly teetering on the edge at the time that Slaven Bilic was dismissed. They will want to finish well and gloss their campaign.
When you think of all the injuries that Moyes has had to deal with recently their achievement is even better but what the former Everton and Manchester United boss has done is get the very best out of Marko Arnautovic and that has been crucial. He’ll know he has to sort his side out defensively ahead of next season but he can plan for that now.
Manchester United
It has been an up and down campaign for Manchester United as well. In truth the way Manchester City have been playing this season they were only ever playing for second place from a long way out so I guess the fact they are set to secure that would count as an achievement but it is hardly what the goal is at Old Trafford.
The disappointing thing has been the style, or lack of it, that they have gone about their work this season. They have come in for criticism for that and even when they have had no pressure on them they have looked like a tough team to watch. They do still have the FA Cup to play for this season which will determine how successful a season it has been.
Team News
David Moyes is set to be without a number of players for this match. Javier Hernandez is the latest to join an injury list which already includes the likes of Winston Reid, Joe Hart and Michail Antonio among others.
Romelu Lukaku is missing for Manchester United in this match and based on the way he was talking after the defeat to Brighton last Friday, Mourinho is likely to make changes to his side here. Marouane Fellaini is expected to miss out but Alexis Sanchez should be fit.

Betting
It is hard to like West Ham in this match with all their injuries coupled with the fact that they are now safe from the drop but after Friday night I’m not sure I can get stuck into Manchester United once again either truth be told.
As I’ve said before this is a busy season for football which doesn’t stop with the World Cup in the summer so I’m not going to bet on a match which looks to have little potential on it. I’ll save my cash for the weekend.
