The first double header of the new Mzansi Super League takes place on Sunday and we see the final two sides yet to get their campaigns underway playing their first match of the season against two teams who had very different showings in their opening game.
Cape Town Blitz will be looking for a second win of the season which would put them in a decent position even this early into the tournament while the other three sides will be seeking a maiden victory to ease the pressure on them.
Durban Heat vs Cape Town Blitz
The opening match of the double header comes from Durban as the Durban Heat play their first game of the tournament against a Cape Town Blitz side who have already picked up a win in the competition already.
I’m looking forward to watching the Heat here. On paper at least they look like they could be one of the teams to beat in the tournament but to be fair they will have their work cut out if Cape Town play like they did in their opening match. I’m going to take a watching brief on this one because I don’t trust the Durban weather but I would probably have avoided the game anyway as I would want to check out Durban before I get stuck into them. I’ll sit this one out.

Paarl Rocks vs Tshwane Spartans
The second match of the day comes from Paarl as the Paarl Rocks are the final side to get their campaign up and running. They take on a Tshwane Spartans side who have already played a match and lost it in this tournament.
That immediately puts AB de Villiers’ men under pressure so they probably wouldn’t want to be facing the likes of Dwayne Bravo, Paul Stirling and some other decent names in this Paarl side. Spin is going to be vital on this Paarl wicket and I didn’t see much from the Spartans’ spinners in the opening game to give me much confidence. Paarl look a nicely balanced side and I can’t avoid a punt on them given that these conditions may not suit de Villiers.
Tips
Back Paarl Rocks to beat Tshwane Spartans for a 4/10 stake at 2.50 with Betfred
