West Indies injected real life into the ODI series with England on Friday when they held their nerve to claim the second match of the five which makes the third contest in Grenada on Monday even more important.
Whoever wins this match will be one up with two to play and will be in complete control of proceedings so we could be in for an even more competitive encounter than the one which we saw on Friday.
West Indies
As with the first game of the series, there was much to like about the West Indies and some things that were not to be appreciated but when the scores were added up it was the men from the Caribbean who had delivered the goods in terms of winning the match. There are things they can work on and get better at but they know what they have is competitive.
The first thing West Indies can improve on is their fielding. Their catching was still woeful even though they won the second match. This England side are too good to be needing 14 or 15 chances a match to contain them. They can also improve their running between the wickets but unlike some West Indies teams they can’t be questioned on character and with that Caribbean flair they always carry that keeps them dangerous.
England
Batting collapses have haunted England on this tour and another one arrived at the wrong time in the second match of the series, which means that Eoin Morgan’s men still have it all to do here if they are going to pick up another series win to take into the World Cup with them. Much like the West Indies, their efforts in the field can still improve but it is with the bat where they have had issues, on this tour at least.
England looked to have worked things out with the ball in the previous match which was a big thing for them. They are helped out with the ball early on in the innings because they know that Chris Gayle isn’t going to run singles. If they lay a platform with the bat you would think they have the ability to reach most totals, regardless of what happened in the second game.
Team News
You would think it would take something unheard of or bizarre for West Indies to make any changes to their side for this match, especially with Andre Russell not being fit until the next match later in the week. The only change would be to add another seamer for a spinner.
England might look to bring Chris Woakes back into their side after he was rested for the previous game. Once again Liam Plunkett could be vulnerable in terms of his place in the side unless Woakes comes back for Tom Curran.

Betting
I’m going to go slightly easier with my bets for this third game of the series because there hasn’t been a match in Grenada for a while so I’ll have a watch about how the ground and pitch plays before getting stuck in a lot more in the second game to be held here later in the week. There is still one that I like though.
That is the West Indies to hit the most sixes at 10/11. They have plundered the most maximums in both matches in the series so far and in truth it hasn’t been close. I don’t think England will be quite as expansive in this match, they will focus on partnerships and winning the contest whereas it is the calypso way to get the ball tonked out of the ground. West Indies won the sixes battles 23-6 and 11-7. 10/11 is decent enough for them to take this too.
