We are into the final quarter of the Sky Bet League One season now and that continues with the remaining 11 matches from the latest round of matches on Saturday and among the fixture list is a match on the TV.
That concludes the day in the evening with the other 10 games all taking place at the traditional 3pm slot. The race for promotion and the battle to avoid relegation is intensifying with every match and we look set for more twists and turns here.
Saturday’s fixtures are as follows: (3pm unless stated)
AFC Wimbledon v Doncaster Rovers
Barnsley v Accrington Stanley
Blackpool v Southend United
Bradford City v Peterborough United
Gillingham v Oxford United
Plymouth Argyle v Luton Town
Rochdale v Shrewsbury Town
Scunthorpe United v Bristol Rovers
Walsall v Fleetwood Town
Wycombe Wanderers v Sunderland
Charlton Athletic v Portsmouth (5.30pm)
Big Matches
The TV match on Saturday afternoon sees two promotion chasers battling it out when Charlton Athletic take on Portsmouth at The Valley. Losing is not an option for either of these sides if they want to keep automatic promotion realistic. One of the reasons for that is because Luton Town are blazing a trail at the top of the table and the league leaders head to Plymouth Argyle looking to maintain their five point lead at the summit, if not extend it. Barnsley in second will hope to close the gap when they take on Accrington Stanley at Oakwell.
Best of the Rest
Sunderland are surging towards the climax of the season in excellent form and they will be hoping that continues on Saturday when they make the lengthy trip to Adams Park to take on a Wycombe Wanderers side who are finding the going a little hot. At the other end of the table AFC Wimbledon could move off the bottom when they host Doncaster Rovers while Bradford City will be looking to keep them there when they host Peterborough United. Rochdale start life without Keith Hill by taking on Shrewsbury while it is a momentous day in Blackpool’s history as they host Southend United with their fans back in Bloomfield Road.

Betting
I’ll take just the one on Saturday and it comes at Blackpool where I’m expecting the emotion and hugeness of the situation will propel them to a victory against a Southend United side who have only won one of their last nine and that came against Bradford which hasn’t been backed up as a fantastic form guide. While they have had a tough run of fixtures they do look in a bit of a slump.
Blackpool lost a couple of weeks in the immediate aftermath of the courts removing their owners but that was understandable and either side of that they have been in excellent form. It is going to be something of a party atmosphere at Bloomfield Road and the home side will be desperate not to ruin that by failing to win on the pitch. Blackpool won at Southend earlier in the season and on this day of all days they look good things to complete the double.
Tips
HALF LOSS – Back Blackpool (-0.25AH) to beat Southend United for a 4/10 stake at 1.80 with Betfred
