The third round of the ATP Miami Open begins on Sunday and as the matches begin to thin out on the schedule the focus on each of them starts to intensify in the Florida heat at the Hard Rock Stadium.
We lost the second seed on Saturday on what was a really good day of tennis with a lot of close matches and we should be looking to expect much more of the same from the card we have on Sunday.

Stadium Court
John Isner continues his title defence in the first match on the Stadium Court on Sunday when he goes up against the Spanish star Albert Ramos-Vinolas and then after a women’s match splits up the schedule the world number one Novak Djokovic takes to the main court to face the Argentine player Federico Delbonis who isn’t likely to lack for support. The final men’s match of the day comes in the night session as Nick Kyrgios takes on Dusan Lajovic for a place in the last 16 of the second Masters 1000 event of the campaign.
Grandstand
There are just the two men’s matches on the second court in Sunday’s play and we have to wait for a women’s match to conclude before the first of them. British eyes will be on this court then though when Milos Raonic faces their number one Kyle Edmund. The last men’s match on Grandstand comes in the night session when Borna Coric looks to make progress when he goes up against Jeremy Chardy from France.
Court 1
This is where the other three men’s matches take place and after a doubles match Roberto Bautista Agut will go up against Fabio Fognini in what should be a good contest. Nikoloz Basilashvili is up after them when he plays Robin Haase with the final match on this court the potentially most exciting one of the day when Hubert Hurkacz takes on his fellow Next Gen star Felix Auger Aliassime for a place in the last 16.

Betting
I’ll go with a couple of bets on Sunday. Fabio Fognini has won three of the four matches he has played against Roberto Bautista Agut and the one the Spaniard won he needed five sets to come through so there is enough to like about the Italian here. He was his usual mercurial self in the previous round against Andreozzi but there was a time in that match where he could have jacked it in but instead he fought hard and came through impressively. That makes me think he is up for the fight here so he looks a good price against a Bautista Agut who didn’t look much against Janko Tipsarevic in the previous round. I think the Italian can pull off the upset here.
Later in the day Borna Coric looks vulnerable to me. He did beat Jeremy Chardy in straight sets in the Davis Cup last year but he doesn’t look in anything like his best form this term. Coric was bagelled in the middle set of his previous win and that must surely give Chardy plenty of confidence. Chardy had to battle like mad to come past Nicolas Jarry in the first round but he brushed Gilles Simon aside quite easily. There is no doubt he is value to see off the Croatian here as well.
