The last team to get their Big Bash League campaign underway are the defending champions Perth Scorchers who will be going in search of an incredible fourth title in five years. A formula that works and not too many changes to how they do things has been pivotal to their success and they will be hoping that continuity is rewarded this season too.

Preview
Players In: Cameron Green, Josh Inglis
Players Out: Ian Bell
If the Perth Scorchers are to win the tournament this season it would probably be their most satisfying success. They were already going to begin the competition without three key players away on international duty and then in the run up to the event beginning the tragic news about Michael Klinger’s wife came through to dent their chances further.
The bright side for the Scorchers is that their bowling attack is so good that they are not going to need to churn out massive scores all the time so they should have enough with the bat. If they stay competitive until players come back you would fancy them down the stretch when the pressure cooker cranks up.

Betting
The news about Michael Klinger’s wife and the subsequent doubt about when and if he will play in this tournament has taken down the Perth Scorchers batting market so we are only left with the bowling one to go at here.
I’m already on Jhye Richardson to be the top wicket taker in the tournament but that was a value price bet more than anything else. I’m well aware there is the potential for the Scorchers bowlers to share the wickets around somewhat so I’m reluctant to get involved in this market so I’ll go with a bet for the Scorchers season markets.
