Given the retirements that the Sydney Sixers have run into you would think they are going to be significantly weaker this season than they were last year but I’m not convinced that is how it is going to play out in reality. They still have a very solid looking bowling attack and there is enough in their batting to be more than competitive.

Having made it to the final last season there will be a lot of pressure on the Sixers to go one better but if they can get off to a good start then when they get the likes of Nathan Lyon and Jackson Bird back there is nothing to stop them challenging strongly for the title once again.

Betting

I’m already on a top batsman and a top bowler for the tournament from the Sydney Sixers so there is no player markets to really get stuck into here as I don’t like doubling up on those kind of bets in case we run into an injury. I would double up if the players I’ve picked, in this case Nic Maddinson and Sean Abbott, were extreme value in their markets but they are not.

I’m not going to go against those players especially with the main protagonists all likely to miss stages of the season so in terms of team bets for the Sixers I’m purely a watcher rather than a punter.
