There is one match in the Caribbean Premier League on Monday night after which each franchise will have played two games in this year’s CPL. This match is the reverse fixture of the opening night of the season as the Trinbago Knight Riders host the St Lucia Stars.
Trinbago ran out convincing winners on the first night of the tournament and will be looking to follow up that success here while the Stars will be eager to win to build some confidence.
Trinbago Knight Riders
It was almost a perfect performance by the Knight Riders in that first match. They bowled with discipline, fielded exceptionally well and were pulsating with the bat. If they can repeat that throughout the tournament then they are going to be the side to beat.
In many ways their toughest test here could be themselves as it is not always easy to back up one huge win or performance with another regardless of the sport. Brendon McCullum is an aggressive captain who gets the best out of his players at all times so it should not be an issue.
St Lucia Stars
The Stars have plenty of issues to deal with from that opening match. They were comprehensively beaten and were thoroughly outplayed in all departments so they need take stock from that and bounce back with a performance here if not a victory. They must find a way to stem runs which could be a long term issue if they are not careful.
The St Lucia side certainly don’t lack for firepower with the bat. It goes without saying that they need to bat better than they did in that first match but I see the batting as their strength so they can be forgiven one bad performance. A second on trot would be much more of a concern.
Team News
You would think the Trinbago Knight Riders would be hard pressed to make any changes from what was a near perfect performance in the first game between these two.
St Lucia Stars may feel that they need to make changes if they are to be competitive in this match. Rahkeem Cornwall chewed up balls and went for plenty with the ball in hand so he could be one to make way.

Betting
All the logic would suggest that Trinbago Knight Riders are very good things after their comfortable win in the first match between these two but sport doesn’t always work like that and even if they are their price is nothing to get excited about.
I took the sixes in the first match between these two and I see no reason to not take them again. I think St Lucia will have seen the only chance they have is to meet fire with fire so I expect them to come out with a much stronger attacking intent in this one. Trinbago will naturally have that so 13 or more sixes looks good to me.
