The Czech Darts Open continues on Saturday when the tournament goes up a notch as the seeded players enter the fray for the first time this weekend with everyone involved on Saturday looking to book their spot on the final day.
We get to see the likes of Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright and the defending champion Luke Humphries for the first time this week over the course of the two sessions of play on what should be another good day of darts.
Afternoon Session
We begin the second round in potentially entertaining style as the UK Open champion Andrew Gilding looks for another stage win when he meets Vincent van der Voort. When they are done the new kid on the scene, Josh Rock, goes up against Dalibok Smolik, the home player who caused a huge shock when he duped Richard Veenstra out on Friday. The third match of the day sees Damon Heta taking on Dylan Slevin before we reach the halfway mark of the afternoon with Ryan Searle taking on the popular Steve Beaton.
The second half of the afternoon promises plenty in the way of quality with Dave Chisnall continuing the show when he meets the Dutch player Martin Schindler. Kim Huybrechts looked as good as he has done for a while on Friday and his reward for beating Callan Rydz is a meeting with Martin Schindler. The penultimate match of the afternoon sees Dirk van Duijvenbode going up against Mario Vandenbogaerde before we conclude with Nathan Aspinall meeting Martin Lukeman.

Evening Session
As ever on the European Tour there is plenty to look forward to in the evening session and we might actually get underway with the pick of the matches as former TV tournament winners Danny Noppert and Jose de Sousa battle it out. When they are done Rob Cross will look to make progress at the hands of Madars Razma before Peter Wright looks to put an ordinary year so far behind him when he takes on Brendan Dolan. We head into the halfway point of the evening with Michael van Gerwen playing Mike De Decker.
The second half of the evening begins with the home star Karel Sedlacek back on the stage. The Czech ace will meet Joe Cullen before the defending champion Luke Humphries starts out on his title defence. He faces a stiff test at the hands of the European champion Ross Smith. Jonny Clayton will take to the stage in the penultimate match of the evening to face Martijn Kleermaker and a busy day of darts will conclude with Dimitri Van den Bergh facing Stefan Bellmont.
Betting
Peter Wright isn’t winning many darts matches at all these days and even when he gets into position to win such as against Gabriel Clemens on the European Tour last week he is finding ways to lose and that is certainly not a good position to be in. He has the look of a man who is devoid of confidence even allowing for the show that he puts on. He just doesn’t have that authoritative look about him when he is zoning in on a double with any pressure on it.
Wright meets Brendan Dolan on Saturday evening and that has banana skin written all over it for ‘Snakebite’. Dolan should have his dander up after a good win over Jelle Klaasen on Friday, where he put in a solid performance and if there is a bit more to come now that he has had a run on the big stage then he is more than capable of laying it down to Wright. A good start from Dolan could see him pulling away from Wright but as long as the Northern Irishman stays close then he could well get him down the stretch the way the Scot is throwing matches away. However he does it, 7/4 on Dolan to win looks big.
