Denmark will find out their Euro 2020 quarter final opponents when the Netherlands take on the Czech Republic in Budapest on Sunday afternoon as the Group C winners face the third placed side in Group D.
The Netherlands came through their group in perfect fashion with three pretty comfortable wins whereas the Czechs qualified for the knockout stage early but slipped into third place on the final day of the group action.
Where to watch
The match will be shown live in full on the ITV1 channel for us in the UK. The build-up to the contest begins at 4.15pm with the match kicking off in Budapest at 5pm UK time.
Netherlands
I didn’t fancy the chances of the Netherlands ahead of the competition but you have to take a bit more notice of them now. I’m not completely convinced they have beaten anything in the tournament so far although the Austrian performance against Italy on Saturday evening has certainly done the form lines for the Dutch no harm. Regardless of what they might or might not have faced, you can’t do a lot more than win three matches and that is what they did.
There are still big concerns over the Dutch defence which has looked like it is going to leak more often than not when it has been attacked but at the other end of the pitch the Netherlands cause a lot of problems with their wing-backs so high up allowing the likes of Memphis Depay to come inside and cause havoc. That has worked very well so far in this tournament but that tactic will have been spotted now and the better sides will have come up with a way to combat it.
Czech Republic
The Czech Republic started the tournament very well with a win over Scotland and they won the first half of their second match against Croatia but things have turned a little sour since then. They surrendered their lead in the match against Croatia and never really threatened much against England, although whether we should judge them on that England effort or not I’m not sure because they had already qualified for the knockout stage by then.
The concern would be that the only match they won in the group stage was the one over an out of their depth Scotland side but at the same time this becomes a new tournament now and they have the one thing any team who is going to do deep in this competition needs and that is a striker in form. England exploited a lack of pace in the Czechs defence at Wembley though and there is no lack of mobility in the Netherlands ranks so the Czechs will need to combat that.

Team News
The Netherlands will be without forward Luuk de Jong for the remainder of their existence in the competition after a knee injury suffered in training ended his stay in the tournament. That is Frank de Boer’s only injury issue.
Czech Republic are said to have an issue with their captain Vladimir Darida who picked up an injury and missed training on the eve of the match. Jan Boril will definitely miss this match as he picked up a second booking against England and is suspended.
Betting
The Dutch have looked as good as anyone going forward in this tournament but that has not come without a defensive frailty. One reason for that is one or two centre-backs had fitness issues in the lead up to the tournament but the way they utilise their wing-backs can lead them exposed if they lose the ball in certain areas of the pitch so there is certainly no guarantee that the Netherlands win this match, especially if the Czechs can get support up to Patrik Schick.
I’m on the Czechs outright for this tournament so I am hoping that they can come through here so rather than bet on the match winner market the bet I like here is for both teams to score. Ukraine bagged twice against the Dutch in the opening game and in the third group match North Macedonia hit the post and forced some good saves from Maarten Stekelenberg so there is enough to think the Czechs can cause problems. Scotland missed chance after chance against the Czechs and Czech Republic conceded in their other two matches. A Dutch goal will draw the Czechs out and a Czech goal will force the Dutch to be clinical so both teams to score at 10/11 feels good to me.
