FIFA World Cup 2022 European Qualifiers – Friday 12th November Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The penultimate round of matches in the European Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup 2022 continues on Friday night on what is an evening which is going to be pivotal for the hopes of a number of sides in their quest to be in Qatar next year.

Three groups are in action on Friday night and some heavyweights of Europe are among them looking to seal their spot at the finals so we should be in for a tense and dramatic evening of football across the continent.

Group C

It could well be the pivotal night of the campaign for the two sides riding high in Group C on Friday night as they meet in Rome when Italy host Switzerland. The European champions go into the match top of the group on goal difference and a win would leave them needing just a point from their final game to make it through. Were Switzerland to win they would be on the verge of a major shock. The other match in the group doesn’t carry much other than pride and rankings moving forward. That sees Northern Ireland looking to salvage something from the campaign when they host Lithuania.

Group F

We have known for some time that Denmark will be the automatic qualifiers from this group and they continue their quest for the perfect qualifying campaign when they play host to the Faroe Islands. Scotland have the chance to secure their place in the playoffs in the early kick off when they go up against an average Moldova side. If the Scots win that it will render the other match in the group between Austria and Israel a dead rubber but should the Scots slip up then Israel can keep their own playoff hopes alive with a win in that match.

Group I

England will look to move onto the verge of qualifying for the World Cup on Friday night when they take on Albania a Wembley. A win will leave them needing a draw in their final game but victory won’t come easy against the Albanians who are third and must win here to keep their hopes of a playoff spot alive. Poland will be hoping for an England slip up and if that happens they can move level on points with the Euro 2020 finalists with an England defeat and a Poland win. Poland would probably go above England on goal difference too because they travel to Andorra looking to run up the score. The other match sees Hungary hosting a terrible San Marino outfit.

Betting

Thursday didn’t go to plan so I’m hoping to pick up a winner on Friday with one bet over the course of the evening. That comes in the form of the Euro 2020 winners Italy to beat a Switzerland side who are hampered by injuries for what is a massive match for the two sides. Italy know that a draw here and a win over Northern Ireland should be enough to see them qualify for the World Cup but they can all but seal the deal with a win here. That would leave them needing just a point against a poor Northern Ireland side.

Switzerland finish up against Bulgaria so they really need to win this match so that they would only need a draw in that match but they are going to have win get a result without Granit Xhaka, Haris Seferovic and Breel Embolo and that is a big trio of players to be without against the European champions. Italy lost their unbeaten run against Spain in the Nations League semi-final but got back on the horse to beat Belgium and I expect them to have too much for an injury hit Swiss outfit when you consider they beat a much stronger Swiss side 3-0 at Euro 2020 five months ago.
