The second day of action at the Grand Slam of Darts concludes with the evening session where the groups that were on show on Saturday night are back on show on Sunday as we conclude the middle set of matches.
Those who won on Saturday evening will meet in this session while those who lost will face off against each other with the losers of those matches likely to be eliminated from the competition so it is a key night of darts.
First Four Matches
The first half of the evening will be made up of the four matches featuring the eight losers from the Saturday session and we begin in Group C where Dirk van Duijvenbode will look to relaunch his campaign when he takes on Steve Lennon before James Wade will be looking to avoid an early departure from the tournament as he takes on Nathan Girvan in Group A. The heavyweight clash of the first part of the evening sees Peter Wright battling Dave Chisnall in Group E before we reach the halfway part of the session with Martijn Kleermaker facing Fallon Sherrock.

Later Four Matches
That means that the second part of the evening will comprise the four games where the winners from Saturday go against each other looking to end the night with two wins to their name for their group. The first of those matches sees Stephen Bunting looking to assume dominance in Group E when he faces the American raider Stowe Buntz. Two former world champions meet in the next match when Michael van Gerwen and Rob Cross battle it out for top spot in Group G before the defending champion Michael Smith continues his title defence when he takes on Krzysztof Ratajski in Group A. A decent looking session concludes with the World Grand Prix winner Luke Humphries going up against Gary Anderson.
Betting
As much as Gary Anderson is looking back to decent touch, I much prefer him over the longer formats of the game and as such I think he might be vulnerable to a Luke Humphries who arrives in fine form and who built on that when he dispatched Steve Lennon with the minimum of fuss on Saturday in what was a very solid performance, one which showed us that he is completely comfortable on the big stage after his marquee win last month.
Humphries fell 2-0 down to Lennon on Saturday night but blitzed him after that and I fancy he can have too much for Anderson for the third time in succession. Anderson saw off van Duijvenbode on Saturday evening but his doubling was very scratchy and that is an immediate warning sign for me in this format because one break of throw because of a missed double carries so much more significance. While Anderson has been improving recently, he does still throw some poor legs when it comes to finishing. Humphries has really brushed that part of his game up and so I like him here.
