Strengths
It doesn’t matter which combination Pakistan put out with the ball they are going to be strong. Headed by the left arm pacemen they have an attack which can bowl out any side and if the conditions are a little slower then they aren’t short of spin options so the strength of this side is very much with the ball.
Weakness
Pakistan can be either brilliant with the bat or abject. If their openers can lay a decent foundation then there is no score they can’t get but if they get under pressure early then there can be a deck of cards look to them. They are too inconsistent with the bat for comfort and it is that which holds them back.

Betting
Although I backed Babar Azam to be the top scorer in this tournament I did so on his scores in recent times. Of course for him to top score I’m going to need Pakistan to go deep in this tournament and with that not guaranteed it makes sense to take him to be the top Pakistan batsman too.
I don’t really need to go over the figures again but the advantage he has in this market is that he is going to bat at three which is the ideal position to bat as Joe Root and Kane Williamson showed in the first two matches. At 10/3 Babar Azam looks a great price to me.
