The Indian Premier League heads back to Delhi on Tuesday afternoon when the Delhi Daredevils take on the defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad in a pretty big match for both sides. This is the first match in Delhi for almost three weeks so the Daredevils will be pleased to get back home.
Delhi Daredevils head into this match with five of their last six matches at home and they will need them because they pretty much have to win out if they are going to make the latter stages of the tournament. Sunrisers will move up to second if they come out victorious.
Delhi Daredevils
After a harrowing defeat last time out the Daredevils have now lost their last five matches and the bright promise their season once had has officially faded. There is one last glimmer of hope for them and it comes in this run of home matches. If they can build up some momentum in this match a run of wins isn’t beyond them.
If that run is going to start here then they need to come up with a batting balance that works and an order that can keep any positivity they have going throughout the 20 overs. They have plenty of power down the bottom of their order but they keep on losing their way in the opening 10-12 overs and haven’t been able to recover.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Hyderabad had a little wobble midway through the season but they look to have put that behind them now. They have won their last two matches by significant enough margins and those victories have put them in a very strong place with regards to a spot in the postseason. Their target now is to seal a top two berth.
The wobble occurred when their batting line up had a couple of struggles but their top three are all in excellent form now and will be looking to push on and sew up that spot in the top two. That batting form has taken the pressure off the bowlers and they have upped their game accordingly too.
Team News
Zaheer Khan is still missing for the Daredevils so Karun Nair will continue to lead the side. Marlon Samuels is now with the squad and he could force his way into the side. Sam Billings could miss out.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have been rotating their bowlers in recent matches and that rotation may well continue given their position in the league table. Ashish Nehra could come into the side.

Betting
It is hard to go against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the minute but there is something in my mind that is telling me Delhi have one more performance in them so I’m going to leave the match betting alone. The Sunrisers are plenty short enough anyway for this format of the game.
The bet that I like comes in the sixes market where the 13 line looks high to me. This is a big ground and Delhi aren’t batting well and Dave Warner aside there aren’t a lot of sixes being hit from the Sunrisers either. These two have solid bowling attacks so I don’t expect much big hitting to take place.
Delhi have only hit 38 sixes from eight matches but 10 of them came in one innings while the Sunrisers have hit 54 in nine innings but Dave Warner has hit 22 of them so if he fails there isn’t a huge amount to come in six hitting. On the road the Sunrisers only have 20 sixes in four knocks so from a statistics point of view and a logistics one I don’t expect to see more than a dozen here.
