The Indian Premier League match on Wednesday sees two struggling sides going at it when the Delhi Daredevils host the Rajasthan Royals in a must win match for both teams at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium.
Too many defeats in the early stage of the season have left both these sides up against it form the remainder of the campaign although whichever side loses this one can probably call time on their season from a competitive standpoint. Rajasthan probably have a little more wriggle room than their hosts.
Delhi Daredevils
The Delhi Daredevils will have been disappointed to have been beaten last time out. I say that not just because they were unable to follow up a solid win but because the man who beat them was absolutely stone dead first ball and somehow got away with it and when on to smack them around the park. When they could hardly afford to lose another match they did not need that.
To be fair to the Daredevils although they were chasing a total much higher than they should have been they gave it a right good crack and got to the 200 mark even though they were four down fairly on. If their top order could give them a platform they have more than enough firepower in their ranks to get the job done.
Rajasthan Royals
The Royals might have three wins but when you break them down they have only beaten the Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore who have been two of the worst sides in the tournament so far whilst their other win was a rain affected one against their opponents in this match.
The big concern for the Royals is their batting line up. They just can’t seem to put the big scores up that the other franchises have done. It doesn’t help that they keep rotating their batting line up every match it must be said but even so. They could really do with their gun players to fire and given their bowlers a chance.
Team News
All eyes will be on the Delhi Daredevils team sheet to see if Liam Plunkett has survived his horror show in the previous match. Dan Christian and Junior Dala are waiting in the wings to replace him if he hasn’t.
Rajasthan Royals really need to do something about their batting line up but it is hard to see what they can do unless they drop Jos Buttler and that doesn’t look like happening. They may go unchanged and hope something clicks.

Betting
I have to be with the Delhi Daredevils here. If I was giving an edge to anyone with the ball it would be Rajasthan but only just and that is only because of the x-factor that Jofra Archer provides. Even then Trent Boult, Amit Mishra and Avesh Khan are bowling well.
The big difference between these two sides comes with the bat. Glenn Maxwell has not fired at all in this tournament and the Daredevils still have the better of it with the bat and with signs that Colin Munro is warming up they are only going to get stronger. He, Maxwell, Iyer, Pant and the new kid Shaw make up a powerful unit and they can put up too many runs for this misfiring Rajasthan line up to keep up with.
