We are back in Jaipur for the next match in the Indian Premier League on Friday and it sees the Rajasthan Royals taking on the Chennai Super Kings in a match which is pretty big for both sides.
Rajasthan Royals can barely afford another defeat while the Chennai Super Kings will be wanting to pick up a victory here and move further clear of the pack behind them in the race to secure spots in the playoffs.
Rajasthan Royals
It has taken a while but we are finally starting to see some form from the Rajasthan Royals and if they can pick up a win here they will move level with fourth placed Mumbai Indians on points although their run rate is drastically inferior to the defending champions so the Royals will need to keep on winning.
The key to their recent revival has been the elevation up the order of Jos Buttler. He has performed excellently in recent times and has given the platform for the rest of the batting to put up the scores that their bowling attack can defend. Their bowlers have also raised their game too with their varieties really coming to the fore.
Chennai Super Kings
The Chennai Super Kings have just hit a bit of an inconsistent patch but they did beat the Royal Challengers Bangalore last time out and a win here would move them back to within two points of the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the top of the pile. More importantly it would be their eighth win of the campaign which is generally recognised as the amount needed to progress.
The batsmen have lit up this competition for the Super Kings with Ambati Rayudu consistent throughout the campaign and then the likes of Shane Watson, Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni producing devastating individual cameos along the way but there is undoubtedly a concern with their bowling which has gone around the park too often.
Team News
Rajasthan Royals could be unchanged from their win over the Kings XI Punjab last time out. If they do want to make a change then it might be that Rahul Tripathi comes back in for Stuart Binny who didn’t really do much on Tuesday.
Mark Wood has left the Chennai Super Kings set up since their last match so he will play no further part in the tournament. Deepak Chahar is being tipped for a recall but there is no official word on whether he is over his injury.

Betting
This ground in Jaipur has always been a fortress for the Rajasthan Royals and while they have lost a match here this season they have won four times here too and in the majority of those they have been comfortable too.
I’m a big believer that bowling attacks win T20 matches and if that is the case then Rajasthan should win this one. Chennai Super Kings are full of power with the bat but the Royals have the mix and variety in their attack to combat that and if their batsmen continue to improve as a unit I fancy the home win once again here.
