The MLS weekend concludes with two matches on Sunday night as the Western Conference really comes into focus. We have a TV match from these two with the other one being streamed on the bookmaker websites.
The four sides in action on Sunday go into the weekend occupying the final three playoff spots and the one just outside them so there is a chance that this could be a real pivotal night in the final set up.

Vancouver Whitecaps vs Portland Timbers
We get underway with the match that is live in the UK which is the Cascadia Cup clash between Vancouver Whitecaps and the Portland Timbers. Both sides head into the match level on points so there is plenty at stake here.
I am usually reluctant to take on the Timbers when they are at home but away from home it is a completely different kettle of fish. They are much weaker on the road and are without a whole host of players here through international call ups and suspensions. Fanendo Adi, Darlington Nagbe, David Guzman, Darren Mattocks and Alvas Powell are all missing.
Vancouver have much fewer people absent for this match and given their home form which is much improved in recent times I expect the Whitecaps to triumph here even allowing for the derby element of this fixture.
Seattle Sounders vs San Jose Earthquakes
These two sides have eventful midweek matches. Seattle Sounders came from 3-0 down to beat DC United 4-3 while the San Jose Earthquakes were beaten out of sight by the New York Red Bulls.
Given the emotions and the strains of their midweek games I don’t think this is a great match to bet on especially with both missing players to international duty which probably accounted for those crazy results in midweek. I’ll sit this one out.
