The latest round of MLS matches concludes on Sunday when the last two fixtures of the weekend take place. Those of us in the UK get to enjoy a match on TV which is the first of the two while the other one is streamed on the live consoles at the bookmaker websites.
After a winner for us on Saturday night we go in search of another one on Sunday with just one bet but we’ll preview both matches.
Orlando City vs New York Red Bulls
The New York Red Bulls have been as reliable as they come in the regular season in previous campaigns but all isn’t well in Newark at the minute as the Red Bulls go into the match without a win in three games and in truth they have looked ordinary in all three.
Orlando City were well beaten in Columbus last week but prior to that they had won their opening two matches and looked pretty good at both ends of the field so if they haven’t had their confidence damaged too much then I would expect them to come through and win this match.
The Red Bulls are without a couple of attacking players in Gonzalo Veron and Mike Grella and in a side that is lacking for genuinely good offensive options that isn’t ideal. Orlando will be without Kaka but I still think they have enough about them to win this match. Orlando have fewer issues going into the game and with the draw cover that is provided they are the pick.
Sporting Kansas City vs Colorado Rapids
The second game of the night may not live up to the promise of the first one. I say that because three of the four matches Sporting Kansas City have played this season have finished 0-0 while two of the three Colorado Rapids have been involved in ended 1-0 to one of the sides so we may not get a high scoring classic.
I would imagine Sporting KC will look to get on the front foot while the Rapids will play to their low paced tempo which is unlikely to deliver a classic. Both sides also have attacking options who are questionable which won’t help matters. This match looks to have an under 2.5 goals feel about it but I’m reluctant to back them in this league unless the price is extremely good. It is probably about right here though so I’ll sit this one out.
