The Major League Soccer weekend concludes on Sunday night when the last two matches take place in the early hours of Monday morning UK time. It has already been an extremely high scoring weekend and there is the promise for more of that before we are done here.
Both the matches are live on TV for those of us who are night owls so there is no need to miss out on any of the action, although to see both matches you’ll need to be an early bird to watch it all. Hopefully it will be worth staying up for though.
Nashville SC vs Inter Miami (01.30 – Free Sports)
The opening match of the night sees the two new teams into MLS battling it out as Nashville SC stage a home match for the first time in six months when they play host to Inter Miami, the side owned by David Beckham and co.
These two go into the match as the bottom two teams in the Eastern Conference. That isn’t necessarily unexpected but they would both have had loftier ambitions than that. There isn’t much good to come from the pandemic situation but if there is one thing then it is that nine teams will make the postseason so if one of these two win here and it launches some form then they could still make it into the next stage. Neither team is in much form and both are finding their feet so this is one to watch and observe rather than bet on.

Seattle Sounders vs Los Angeles FC (03.00 – Free Sports)
The second match of the night could be the pick of the games this weekend which is saying something when we’ve already seen a 4-4 draw! The MLS Cup champions Seattle Sounders play host to Los Angeles FC who currently have the Supporters’ Shield in their possession.
What makes this such a mouth-watering prospect is both sides know how to perform at this stage of the season. Seattle always catch fire in the run up to the play-offs while LAFC have been one of the best regular season teams in quite a while so we should see two strong outfits displaying the goods here. It almost goes without saying that I’m expecting goals here even allowing for the fact that LAFC have no Carlos Vela for a while. He didn’t play when these two sides met at the MLS is Back tournament and LAFC won 4-1 so they have goals in them without him. I look at both these defences and they just look there for the taking and with teams fully up to speed now I don’t think over 3.5 goals is out of reach.
